Title: Scam in the Homer of a High Profile Player.... Post by: TightEnd on December 14, 2010, 05:51:30 PM various US online poker media outlets
Pro poker player and co-creator of "The Simpsons", Sam Simon, claims that an unnamed "nosebleed player" has been scammed for more than $4 million by means of a hidden camera. Simon, who created "The Simpsons" alongside Matt Groening and James L. Brooks in 1987, claims that a high stakes player has lost more $4 million after he fell victim to an elaborate scam. According to Simon's account of the events, the unnamed player found a hidden camera installed above his computer after his house had been broken into, but at that point the damages had already been done. "He found a camera stuck in his ceiling, looking at the computer screen," Simon told the Las Vegas Review Journal. "He was losing, losing and losing," he added. It was at this point the player, described by Simon as "someone the poker community knows very well" and "one of the biggest nosebleed players out there", realized that he had been the victim of a fraud. The case has now been handed over to the authorities. Simon also commented on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's efforts to push through an Online Poker Act. Reid's bill would legalize online poker in the States, but would also impose a 15 month blackout period, in which only licensed brick-and-mortar casinos would be allowed to run online operations, while sites like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker would be left in the dark. "I think it's the most obvious, corrupt, terrible thing I've ever heard of," Simon said. "That is giving a monopoly to your friends. That is to the detriment of everyone who wants to have fun playing poker." he added. Sam Simon himself is an accomplished tournament player with lifetime cashes of more than $334,000. His biggest cash to date was of $33,445 and was won at the 2007 WSOP Main Event, where he finished in 329th position. He no longer plays online. Post by: boldie on December 15, 2010, 12:28:27 PM So, someone states that he knows someone this happened to (no name mentioned obviously) and immediately every forum states "this happens"? Have they all been taking journalism classes from Sky news or something?

Pro poker player and co-creator of "The Simpsons", Sam Simon "Homer" is, I gather, a character in a grown-up cartoon series, "The Simpsons". You should try watching it, instead of that wrestling nonsense. Title: Re: Scam in the Homer of a High Profile Player.... I do have a tendency to lean towards the classics, though, instead of some of this contemporary tomfoolery you youngsters are into. Title: Re: Scam in the Homer of a High Profile Player.... There's an odd juxtapose. Surprised you are into classics - thought you were a Birmingham boy? Don't tell me they teach classics at Solihull Secondary Modern, I ain't buying. In my defence, a typo was very much a possibility as the 'r' key is adjacent to the 'e' key, although that was ultimately coincidental. Title: Re: Scam in the Homer of a High Profile Player....
