I always seem to misplay this hand and probably did again yesterday.

Playing in the £20k gtd. £100 FO at DTD I have c16k and average is c12k, blinds are 100/200.

UTG who has been playing fairly sensibly so far open-shoves 5k, I have AKo sitting UTG+1.

What is my best line here?

UTG open shoving for 25BBs makes me think he has a middle pair (77/JJ) that he doesnt want to play OOP.

I prob flat, dont mind the iso shove but it seems excessive at 100/200 to reshove for 16k lol

you're flatting to call or fold to a shove in late position? I just don't see any need to get involved at this stage.  I look at my cards and wish i'd nipped out for a ciggie.  Late position and i'm probably iso shoving.

It was when you were there George, but I'm pretty sure the blinds were not that high, possibly 150/300.

what the blinds were at this time is obviously crucial to correctly solve the hand.

If ther blinds are 150/300 or 200/400/25 then its a jam and its not even close.

If the blinds are 100/200 with no ante then it makes for an interesting discussion as to wether a flat or ISO jam is better. Not sure we can ever flat then fold, although depedning on who re-shoves on us we might be able to, some real nits would need KK MINIMUM to re-shove here

Still Id never EVER fold, am shocked that anyone would but then nits gonna nit its only Ahigh etc ;)

also I dont think there is too much difference between the two (jamming and flatting) assuming the blinds are 100/200 so as long as you didnt fold you wont have played it bad imo.
if the blinds were 200/400 anything other than a Jam is going to be bad i think, 150/300 meh prolly still jam but flattibng may well be better.....

It's a turbo structured comp.

There's 1.6m chips in play that we somehow need to get hold of within about 10 hours of live play. (c.250 hands?)

We're going to need to win lot's of flips to win the thing overall.

Take this one quickly by putting all of your chips in the middle.

AK really doesn't need much discussion in this particular comp particularly for 25 bigs. Yes you might run in to a monster behind you but that's just life.

£300 deepstack would be very different possibly level 1 of this comp given lot's of heavy action but this is as easy a shove as you'll get.

Fold if its 100-200 no ante, it's pretty gross

Ya i doubt he has KK or AA, also doubt he has worse no pair hands and offering up our whole stack to the other 7 players makes me shit it a bit

Just to clarify the level, it was after the first break and therefore most likely level 5 which is 150/300.

GeorgeTL who was sat on my left seems sure that it was level 6 (200/400/25) [and who said that he would have peeled and called any further raises] but I'm not convinced as I seem to recall that he exited during that level and this situation occurred some time previous to that.

I exited about 5 hands later Ralph- was deffo antes in play which is why I was quite shocked when you told me what you had. I thought you had AJ maybe 88
