Mid-late stages of a DTD tourney, 800-1600-200 level

Average stack- 22bbs

You have 16bb's, and  4c 4d UTG.  What do u do?

Me and a friend disagreed, so just wanted other opinions.

fold imo with a table of 5% calling ranges for your shove you could jam.

Or depending on the how many players and who is in the blinds/stacks/on the table in general etc, this might become a shove.

Ok all the same.  I folded, thought it was obvious fold.  Then later a friend stubbornly said it was a standard snap shove and wouldn't see any other reasoning.

Are there antes in play?

If there are, this is damn close. If not insta fold.

meh, that takes us to about 10 bb equivalent. def close as longy says but still happy folding

you'd be surprised how many people ill fold 88 and aq cos you've shoved utg in these comps

That's fine our shoving range needs to play better against tighter calling ranges than 33 does though.

Just had a similar argument with a rele well respected MTT guy about an almost identical situation, only he was UTG+1 and insisted this was a shove.

Im sure if you crunch the figures and assume people are calling too tight then you could prove this was a +chEV shove.

That being said id fold and wouldnt consider anything else in this particular vacuum

I have had to do some scaling in sngwiz as there isn't a 800/1600/200 level.

So 16bb stack = 25600 and effective blinds are 1400/2800 without antes. Meaning our stack 9.14bb.

I get it to be about -cEV push by about 10-20 chips , so it is deffo close and a reasonable question.

It gives a range for shoving 66+,aj+,a10+,kqs

I don't think it should be in beginners forum fwiw. I would probably fold, but definitely shoved in these situ's before.

This wasn't my exit hand was it? Are you a kind of south african/dutch sounding fella?... The guy against me limped with 44 utg, I shoved with  Tc Kc (6 handed at this point/with limper having me covered by about 400 chips), He dwelled for an age, then sigh called, obv it held and sent me to the rail.

That a side if i was in your position I shove.... and get snapped by 55.

True this, although i wouldnt be in this spot cos id have cold 4bet it 2 levels earlier.

And it case it needs saying LIMPING in this spot is the worst play by about 7,684,836,127 miles.
