Title: 400NL river shove?
Post by: pleno1 on January 09, 2011, 07:17:24 AM
Misclick called pre. Villain is Marc Karam, he grinds like 12 tables of rush and is very tight, he does however take time over decisions so isn't just sigh calling/folding etc.

Thoughts on line...

$2/$4 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

MP2$1400.80
(Hero)$400.00

Preflop: Hero is UTG1 with Jd, Qd.
Hero raises to $12.00, 2 folds, MP2 raises to $40.00, 5 folds, Hero calls $28.00.

Flop: ($86) Tc, 9h, Td (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $55.00, Hero calls $55.00.

Turn: ($196) Js (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $110.00, Hero calls $110.00.

River: ($416) 5d (2 players)
Hero bets $195.00(All-In),

edit: Sorry for retarded converter, c+pasted from another forum that I posted it in..

trying to make ppl fold AA/KK in 3bet pots is generally a bad idea.

c/r flop jam turn

hm I like that line if we know that the J is going to come on the turn, but I doubt we get many folds if it peels off a 2-5.

Thought process on the river was, the hands we would bet for value are now, 89, qk, 10x, jj. EVERY SINGLE OTHER HAND we have has showdown value so it would be really stupid for us to bluff...

river chat after I shoved.. (tanked down to 1 second before shoving)

Marc Karam: lol
Dealer: Marc Karam has 15 seconds left to act
Dealer: Marc Karam has requested TIME
Marc Karam: so sick u turn that
Marc Karam: AhAs
Dealer: Cornie4ever wins the pot ($413)

think its a bit optimistic opening and calling the 3bet pre, would fold this preflop. line does look vv strong though.

and I think the combo of hands we could have that we are bluffing with is smaller than 1010/JJ for value.

i'd bet a handsome amount he didn't have aces here, unfortunately we'll never know :P

KQ/89/10J,109,JJ,99.

you should never have KQ/89/99 on the turn, fair enough tiy MAY have JT, but I really dont think you should have any more than you should have QJ.

In credit though, you dont/shouldn't have many/any bluffs either, but when you're repping SUCH thin value I think it's ambitious to expect AA/KK to fold ever.

If people fold AA here then how do you make any money from this game?
