Title: a ruling thread for cf
Post by: George2Loose on January 13, 2011, 07:08:21 PM
Local cardroom 1/2 cashgame. Hero is in position and has reached river of  Qd  9d  7s  C5  Aspades holding aq. Villain reaches for chips and is about to throw them over line when dealer announces the bet is £129. Hero insta announces call. Villian who still has chips in hand now puts them down and taps table to check. Floor is called and should rule?

dealer error - player hasnt made bet - (assume chips still in hand) - therefore check stands

Hero should obv v bet 65 to try and get paid

Sounds like a check to me. Can't force him to bet really. Dealer error. And your error too.

would be terribad to rule as anything other than a check by villain. not really a lot to discuss here

If no chips are over the line and player hasn't announced a bet verbally, it's the dealer's and your fault.

Did the player announce "I bet 129 kkthx"?

As that would change things.

If he has announced the bet, it must stand.

How did the dealer know it was 129?  Did the Villain show the chips to him while holding them as if he was going to bet?  Also when the Dealer announced the bet what was the Villian's reaction or did you snap too quick to see?

Might be an angle shoot but from what you've said it's a dealer mistake.  Either way not too much there to get a ruling in your favour.

Tommy!

Good to see you, man.

Thought you'd visit the PHA Board first, tbh.

Oh Dear...Mr TommyD is in the hoooosee...watch out Omaha wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ;oD

I agree, how did the dealer know it was a £129 bet? very random number to pull from the air IMO..nothing anyone can do after the fact other than watch this dealer like a hawk next time...
