Title: Did I overplay my hand?
Post by: zerofive on January 29, 2011, 07:50:16 AM
Live 50p/£1 cash game at Gala. Villain and I were all-in earlier in the night on Jc Ts 6h, where he 3bet shoved 80BB with Qs 9h. Villain was winning a lot until a hand or two ago, where he lost 200BB all-in pre, and has raised every hand since, so suspecting tiltspew.

Folded to villain who opens £7 from mid position, I flat the button with 9s 8s, blinds fold.

Flop Ts Jc Qc, and he c-bets £16. I choose to raise here to £56. He 3bets to £126 with £99 behind.

What do you do here?

Shove.  Given that uyou think he might be tilting then whilst AK and K9 are certainly a part of his range there are so many hands in his rnage that call here and you are beating.  He might be doing this with almost any Q, any K, any two clubs and any 2 pair combo and he probably calls you with them all.  You also can't rule out any pair all of which you are beating.  This is a really good spot.  Get them in the middle

Okay, that's good to hear. All that threw me off was his decision to leave that much behind. I shoved, and he tank folded?! AT maybe?! Whatevs, as long as sticking it in here isn't tez.

Yeah it was probably bad bet sizing by him really and unless he was on a complete bluff I am not sure what he should realistically be 3 betting to £126 and folding unless you were playing really, really tight.

Was Rich (of the rich/Nicola combo).

Never not shipping here vs oppo. He's not the best player anyway and is overepping all of his range. Probably had KJ or something.

High 5 the dealer, jam, do a little celebratory dance

are dealers allowed to advise players about how to play their hands best?

Probably not. I told this to Sean while at work dealing though, so try and stop me doing it here ^_^.
