Title: Deep in MTT, lock down pot or extract with premiums? Post by: OverTheBorder on January 29, 2011, 05:21:11 PM Played the following hand really badly, dont play much online, trying to ease back into it, played a lot a few years back on crypto but moved on a hell of a lot since then! Basically, want to know if when sitting with a massive hand pre, would everyone insta shove the SB bet or take a different line? my thinking was my bet would look like a standard blind battle and he could easily put me on very little trying to bluff, I didnt see him flatting, I thought he would shove or fold, I was inticing the shove but never got the result. Should I just be insta shoving pre? Also, when the A hits, based on a small blind raise, its more likely he has flatted with connectors than a raggy ace, so I am pretty much committed to the pot, no idea why I did not just shove the flop, I got LOST! Raising anything less just looks so strong that the better players are going to see anything other than a shove for what it is. Also are you realistically ever folding???? in that case get it in whilst you are good rather than giving away the initiative. If you do bet less than all ion you bhave to bet the flop anyway.

Never folding, to be honest, I got kinda spooked, he posted something in a foreign language on chat, just distracted me for some reason, checked and thought why the hell did I do that...never folding any turn so when he bets its auto all in! only way I win that pot is shove pre I sense :( just want to know if thats the accepted play Title: Re: Deep in MTT, lock down pot or extract with premiums? Small 3bet looks way too strong...however as played, I would put in the rest of my stack on the flop.

fwiw my thoughts are that I think a jam is better from an overall game theory angle, unless you are going to small 4b hands like Kc Qc etc but in this particular vacuum you most likely played the hand perfectly :) and your play post flop is spot on also |
