Title: Re: Cash Gala Leeds Post by: martin.roberts on January 30, 2011, 12:19:41 PM jam obviously when sat that shallow. hard to believe that when someone raises to 6 and gets 3 callers and you reraise 7 more and two pass haha. that is funny.
Title: Re: Cash Gala Leeds Post by: Cf on January 30, 2011, 12:28:45 PM Make it more like £30 preflop.
And he can't raise to £25 on the flop. Call obviously if it's all in. And shove otherwise. You wanna stack off an pretty much any flop without an A on it Title: Re: Cash Gala Leeds Post by: Biddy 62 on January 30, 2011, 03:21:50 PM yeah pushed all in he had pocket 6's. True enough if i would have raised more he would'nt have called.

That's not why we shoud raise more. we raise more preflop because HE WILL call with pocket 6's He doesn't go broke on a lot of flops with 66, but he does call £25 preflop with it, and we'll be winning the pot most of the time Title: Re: Cash Gala Leeds Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 30, 2011, 03:43:32 PM Make it more like £30 preflop. Was playing there a couple of weeks ago and had a guy backraise me with 44 on a 553 board with 4 people behind him. We're not raising so everyone folds bad or worse hands, we're raising so they do call with worse hands. We don't want them to only call with better hands do we?! Raise sizing is important, you don't want to be playing this pot 5or6way. A fairly standard method of calculating how much, is take the initial raise size (£6) multiply it by somewhere between 2.5 and 4 (depending on how loose the game is) and then add 6 more for each caller. So in this case. 3x6=18 + 3callers of 6 = 18. So £36. Anywhere from £30-£40 is fine depending on the game. If you think that people will call £40 with 66 just to hit a 6, then make it 40. That's what you want. After a while you just get a feel of how much to raise and you don't need to be doing your times tables everytime you wanna "backraise". As for the flop, go broke everytime here with £52 behind. It's -EV to do otherwise. |
