Title: Prob a simple question Post by: Graham C on February 07, 2011, 03:26:34 PM I'm out of practice and haven't played much for the last 18 months or so. Should be in the learning centre really!
Final table of mtt, last 5. I'm 5th in chip with approx 500k. Blinds are 50k/25k with ante (4k/5k?) Folds to me in the small blind and I have Ac 3s. Big blind is CL and has approx 1.3m Should I be shoving here? I did think about it for a while as to what the best thing to do was and am still not sure about it now. Obviously I shoved and lost but given that the CL only has just over a double up more than me and the other three stacks are certainly within that, should I have just passed this? tyia Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: Ironside on February 07, 2011, 03:28:41 PM Shove very easy
Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: Ironside on February 07, 2011, 03:29:36 PM BTW I am shoving any 2

Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: GreekStein on February 07, 2011, 03:50:10 PM Yeah we can fistpump shove an ace. I'm shoving a vast majority of hands here
Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: outragous76 on February 07, 2011, 03:52:17 PM Yeah we can fistpump shove an ace. I'm shoving a vast majority of hands here that surely depends on other stacks and payouts of which we know nothing Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: Graham C on February 07, 2011, 04:10:10 PM Can't remember the other stack sizes exactly, but approx 650k, 800k, 900k. Only a small tourney, payouts $1540 ftw, $950, $625, $500 and $395. I considered folding as perhaps it would be better to leave the CL alone and hopefully have something against one of the other stacks where if they lost if would really dent their stacks, but being only 5 handed I didn't have ages.
Glad shoving was right, it's been on my mind, mainly because I lost probably Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: Longy on February 07, 2011, 05:34:59 PM Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: cambridgealex on February 07, 2011, 05:38:57 PM Am shoving close to any two vs random. if villain is good and knows im shoving any two, then I need like top 60% to shove Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: gatso on February 07, 2011, 06:32:24 PM Am shoving close to any two vs random. if villain is good and knows im shoving any two, then I need like top 60% to shove how does he know you're shoving atc if in fact you're not shoving atc but just top 60%? Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: DMorgan on February 07, 2011, 08:58:54 PM Happily jamming any 2 here, pretty fkin pumped to pick up an ace
Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: cambridgealex on February 07, 2011, 09:58:10 PM Am shoving close to any two vs random. if villain is good and knows im shoving any two, then I need like top 60% to shove how does he know you're shoving atc if in fact you're not shoving atc but just top 60%? sry i play too much live. with small player pools, you can easily see who your up against. there are certain players good enough to know spots where I'd shove any two. So vs these guys I'd be folding a bit. Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: gatso on February 07, 2011, 10:10:57 PM Am shoving close to any two vs random. if villain is good and knows im shoving any two, then I need like top 60% to shove how does he know you're shoving atc if in fact you're not shoving atc but just top 60%? sry i play too much live. with small player pools, you can easily see who your up against. there are certain players good enough to know spots where I'd shove any two. So vs these guys I'd be folding a bit. so they've seen you fold in that exact situation so know you're not shoving atc? so how do they know it's a spot where you shove atc? the 2 things contradict Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: Ironside on February 08, 2011, 03:22:16 AM wow think I need to sit down a good player sort of agrees with me
Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: ChipRich on February 08, 2011, 03:44:18 AM Shove very easy Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: baltic_blonde on February 08, 2011, 10:47:03 PM def a shove, you want to apply the max pressure on the bb and the fact that you have an Ace in your hand is a bonus.
Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: AlexMartin on February 09, 2011, 12:01:31 AM show me the ICM on this being an ATC v a bigstacked CL 5 handed (from the SB) . I know im likely wrong, but if someone wants some homework break this down.

Totally different. ;) Title: Re: Prob a simple question Post by: AlexMartin on February 09, 2011, 03:16:12 AM show me the ICM on this being an ATC v a bigstacked CL 5 handed (from the SB) . The suggested any two push has the miniscule edge, so we are on the bounds of any two pushing.
