Title: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: outragous76 on February 15, 2011, 05:24:40 PM Ok just been back through my HH and I think this is an interesting hand. Outcome is already on the forum but really wondering what people do on the turn?
Set up - 9 people from the bubble (which is like 3 hands). I am fairly sure the blinds are folding hence the open. I havent been at the table for too many hands - i obv know Rupert is very capable. FWIW - i dont think he knows much about me other than probs recognises name off blonde PokerStars Game #57618260792: Tournament #406020016, $200+$15 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level XIV (1250/2500) - 2011/02/13 16:48:41 ET Table '406020016 72' 9-max Seat #9 is the button Seat 1: klappertand (32788 in chips) Seat 2: pezinnn (49138 in chips) Seat 3: thesye1 (161159 in chips) Seat 4: Ajeff007 (30808 in chips) Seat 5: THE__D__RY (39529 in chips) Seat 6: Dizzydarts (168165 in chips) Seat 7: bearbeer123 (114095 in chips) Seat 8: outragous76 (87079 in chips) Seat 9: ElRupert (113813 in chips) klappertand: posts the ante 250 pezinnn: posts the ante 250 thesye1: posts the ante 250 Ajeff007: posts the ante 250 THE__D__RY: posts the ante 250 Dizzydarts: posts the ante 250 bearbeer123: posts the ante 250 outragous76: posts the ante 250 ElRupert: posts the ante 250 klappertand: posts small blind 1250 pezinnn: posts big blind 2500 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to outragous76 [Jc 8h] thesye1: folds Ajeff007: folds THE__D__RY: folds Dizzydarts: folds bearbeer123: folds outragous76: raises 3625 to 6125 ElRupert: calls 6125 klappertand: folds pezinnn: folds OK - when he flats pre - I have a few thoughts, 1. He doesnt have total junk 2. He could have a monster (given spot) 3. Probs suited connectors or broadways, and happy we are deep enough and the bubble is there that he can outplay me post flop if he needs/wants too *** FLOP *** [Tc Ad 7s] outragous76: bets 11255 ElRupert: calls 11255 I have to C bet flop? - Felt standard *** TURN *** [Tc Ad 7s] [Ks] As this happened I tanked on the turn and didnt have a clue what to do - i check outragous76: checks ElRupert: bets 16825 He bets 17k into like 40k and we are double gutted - but could obv be chopping to the Q - i have 60k behind Does anyone call? Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: The Camel on February 15, 2011, 05:41:59 PM I'd never call.
Shove or pass. Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: pleno1 on February 15, 2011, 05:42:57 PM he has a10i/j and isnt folding
Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: outragous76 on February 15, 2011, 05:46:24 PM I'd never call. Shove or pass. i was so so close to doing that - but i had a lingering doubt about him having AA KK Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: Dubai on February 15, 2011, 05:47:00 PM Check fold flop
Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: The Camel on February 15, 2011, 05:49:04 PM he has a10i/j and isnt folding Don't think he's calling a shove here with AJ. Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: Rupert on February 15, 2011, 06:31:51 PM Yeah I mean it's Sunday i'm probably playing lots of tables (I wasn't) and i'm probably hardly paying attention to who villain is (altho this time I actually googled you cos I recognised lol) so my range is pretty strong here and does pretty decently on that flop so prob just c/f. I can be flatting some very strong hands here esp if I expect the SB/BB who are pretty short to rip it in quite wide.
Doubt I have a b/f range on turn unless i'm getting pretty out of line which is pretty unlikely :P Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: outragous76 on February 15, 2011, 06:34:47 PM Yeah I mean it's Sunday i'm probably playing lots of tables (I wasn't) and i'm probably hardly paying attention to who villain is (altho this time I actually googled you cos I recognised lol) so my range is pretty strong here and does pretty decently on that flop so prob just c/f. Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: redarmi on February 15, 2011, 08:04:17 PM Not sure I love the C-bet here. He is very likely to have a part of it and also very likely to be ahead of your opening range here (I might just remember a specific post but I am pretty sure I have read on blonde about how you like to exploit the bubble too). I would also be thinking to myself that of all the players at the table the one I don't want to be playing a big pot against is Rupert who could quite easily (maybe even probably) have cards that either make your draw either to a chop or six cards (ie he has the flushg cards). If I had to put him on a hand I would say something like JTss or Axss and he isn't folding those kind of hands. Just fold.
Title: Re: Hand Vs ElRupert in Warm Up Post by: DMorgan on February 15, 2011, 08:28:15 PM Just fold pre when theres a capable player with a big stack behind you, you're just asking for him to own you in position on the bubble

With these stack sizes id just c/f the flop aswell.
