Title: Wednesday football
Post by: action man on February 16, 2011, 11:56:09 AM
1pnt lay forest @ scunthorpe @ 1.74  have a feeling they could bounce from sundays good battling point vs QPR, they have a huge game on saturday vs cardiff. The pitch will be a complete state and scunny were unlucky to lose late on at cardiff. Think forest should be around a 5/4 shot.

1/2 point draw arsenal v barca at 11/4  no idea why it is this big and not your standard 11/5

1/2 point double under 2.5 @ 5/4 arsenal v barca, over 2.5 wigan v bolton

gl all

Its tough to understand how any team in this league can ever be odds on (never mind 8/11) away to anyone.  It roughly equates to forest being 1/3 at home to scunny switching home advantage and again no team in this league should be 1/3 at home to anyone. Its a lay simply on the price.  Add the fact Forest havent had an above average away record for the past 2/3 seasons given how strong their home form is.

I've not looked at the stats but Forest were unbeaten away from the start of last season for ages? Didn't it go into the new year until they played Derby away? I seem to remember them singing "unbeaten away" alot however long the run went on for.

big difference being unbeaten away so actually winning a lot of games away to justify an 8/11 quote.  Man Utd were unbeaten away for ages this year but you would have done your bo**ocks backing them blind away in the league this year at the respective prices.

I've succumbed to having a small bet.

Pullein makes a strong argument for going low on corners in the Arse/Barca game, but his argument that Barca have few corners in most of their games isn't much help for predicting the number of corners here as Barca are usually huge odds on favourites and play teams who basically park the bus.

You would think/hope that Arsenal will be a little more adventurous than that, so I've had a small bet over 10 Asian corners at 2.1.

forced to play the unders and the draw in the arsenal game.  10/3 the draw and 11/8 under 2.5 goals in a first leg game is just too big when the fav is on the road.  Sort of bet which can make you look silly when barca hose up but i will take the chance.

Personally see a few goals in arsenal game and have permed 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 and 2-2.

Imo barca are way too short and i've laid them at odds on, this leg will be decided when barca win 3 or 4 zip in the nou camp.

So on over 3 goals at just over evens, 3 is a push. Also laid forest at 1.7, just far too skinny and a price based on league pos and little else.

On and fgs fabergas@14-1, lets gogogo!

Shocker by Pep for once taking Villa off at that stage.

Was scared of a repeat of last year. What he got was even worse.

Bottled it big time.

Sets it up nicely for the 2nd leg, fancy Barca to still get through but will be a cracker.

If QPR beat Barcelona in my lifetime, it will be in my dreams when I'm a dribbling, quivering wreck in a care home.

coral knew!!!!  If only they would lay a bet sometimes they could empty a load out of betfair from the risk free boys who back and lay for easy money.  Shame the late arsenal goal spoilt what would have been a monster night with forest getting beat.  Will teach me to go out for dinner i suppose with the missus when i could have greened up both the draw and the under 2.5 on the arsenal game for a huge profit in running.

manutd 1/10 on bf at the weekend (prob get 1/9 if u get in the queue now as there is only few grand waiting to get matched).  Not sure i could get involved this early without team news.  Crawley are no mugs and probably equate to a mid/bottom end league one side squad wise.  They are a non league team in name only.  Everything about them is div 1 at the present time esp the transfer fees they paid over the summer (most div 1 sides only dream about the transfer fees they have spent).  Would rather lay crawley at 33/1 and have the draw onside than steam into 1/10 manutd although on face value it does look big.

already bet 3 for the weekend just praying there are no late injuries

Swansea 4/6
pompey 1/1
scunthorpe 7/4  (a lot smaller than the other 2)

im off to see the wednesday get thumped by birmingham, really hope they rest a lot of players.

TBF Arsenal was much better in the second half, also don't understand taking Villa off and replacing him with Keita but you also don't hear anyone about Messi's goal being ruled out which was a terrible decision and obv Barca should have had a penalty in the last minute when Arshavin handles the ball.

2 big decisions that Wenger would have been moaning about forever, credit to Barca for not doing that.

WP Arsenal but they'll still get humped in the return leg.
