Title: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: The-Crow on February 16, 2011, 10:15:38 PM BBC News just announced a Huge Solar flare is heading for Earth.
Time to head for your Nuclear Shelters and Pray Full Story Sun unleashes huge solar flare towards Earth By Paul Rincon Science reporter, BBC News The Sun has unleashed its strongest flare in four years, observers say. The eruption is a so-called X-flare, the strongest type; such flares can affect communications on Earth. Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft recorded an intense flash of extreme ultraviolet radiation emanating from a sunspot. The British Geological Survey (BGS) has issued a geomagnetic storm warning, and says observers might be able to see aurorae from the northern UK. The eruptions are expected to hit the Earth's magnetic field field over the next couple of days, causing an increase in geomagnetic activity. The monster flare was recorded at 0156 GMT on 15 February and directed at the Earth. According to the US space agency, the source of this activity - sunspot 1158 - is growing rapidly. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12485104 Title: Re: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: Claw75 on February 16, 2011, 10:18:27 PM i don't have a nuclear shelter and i don't believe in god. shall i get drunk instead?

Hundreds of birds have dropped dead from the sky in Louisiana just days after a similar mysterious incident left scientists baffled in Arkansas. The carcasses of around 500 red-winged blackbirds were found littering a quarter-mile stretch of road in Pointe Coupee, The Advocate reported. The state borders Arkansas where some 3,000 blackbirds died in unexplained circumstances three days ago. The remains of some of the birds found dead in Louisiana are being taken away for testing. A woman several hundred miles away in Kentucky has also reported finding dozens of dead birds in her garden. The mass deaths in Beebe, Ark, Arkansas, have puzzled scientists and wildlife experts. Witnesses reported seeing the birds falling from the sky late on December 31 into early January 1. Around 100,000 fish were also found dead along a river 125 miles away although scientists are not linking the cases. Maybe solar flares affect birds guidance and they cannot find the way home.So they fly around in circles until they die of exhaustion and fall Title: Re: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: bhoywonder on February 17, 2011, 12:17:27 AM Scary video...need some mama,s n papa,s now to ,cheers me up

from yahoo Britain should experience spectacular Northern Lights displays from Thursday due to a large solar storm which could disrupt communication networks, the British Geological Survey (BGS) said. "Since February 13 three energetic solar flares have erupted on the sun and spewed clouds of charged plasma called coronal mass ejections (CMEs) out towards the earth," a BGS geomagnetic storm warning said. "Already one CME arrived on the 14th sparking Valentine's Day displays of the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) further south than usual. "Two CMEs are expected to arrive in the next 24-48 hours and further...displays are possible some time over the next two nights if skies are clear." The strongest storm in four years is expected to interfere with satellites and electrical networks, with astronomers in southern China already reporting disturbances to radio communications. In "the Day of the Triffids", everyone went blind when they looked at strange lights in the sky. ( Solar Flares ) In "the Day after tomorrow" all the birds and animals flew south to avoid the coming storm ( Oriental Pidgeon found in Chipping Norton ) And my seaweed has been wet for days now ( a sure sign ) Title: Re: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: The-Crow on February 17, 2011, 10:01:51 PM Today The Telegraph online gives this warning
Nasa warns solar flares from 'huge space storm' will cause devastation Britain could face widespread power blackouts and be left without critical communication signals for long periods of time, after the earth is hit by a once-in-a-generation “space storm”, Nasa has warned. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/7819201/Nasa-warns-solar-flares-from-huge-space-storm-will-cause-devastation.html Title: Re: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: The-Crow on February 17, 2011, 10:09:21 PM Anti matter detected in Clouds

The latest advise is do not fly. Air passengers will be hit by supercharged particles and NASA says the space lab astronauts are at risk Read more: http://www.techeye.net/science/radio-jammed-by-massive-solar-flare#ixzz1EGYZ2WLT I shall not fly down to the pond tonight, I'm walking Shortwave radio works great in Solar flares. During the last maximum 11 years ago my CB radio could send signals all the way to Kent As long as my Squawk and Squelch are adjusted right Title: Re: Huge Solar Flare is Heading for Earth Post by: boldie on February 18, 2011, 07:44:09 AM Super particles even?
