Title: WSOP Side Events - Weekend Warrior Selling percentage - SOLD
Post by: duncthehat on February 19, 2011, 11:54:19 AM
Ok guys not sure what reaction I will get to this, First staking thread ever!!

Been on blonde for quite a few years but as you can see by my just over 300 posts I dont contribute a great deal.  more a lurker!!

Heading off to Vegas in June and WILL be playing the following

Event 17  $1500 Horse  10th june
Event 20  $1500 Stud Hi Low  14th june

I am very much an old school limit style player.  This is what I grew up playing and indeed stud hi low was often the game of choice.

Trying to find a live game of either in this country is near on impossible.   Thankfully APAT put a small game of Horse on each year to which I have final tabled on both occasions.

i am very much a weekend warrior playing live low buy in events like twice a month max.   If i play higher than 100 bucks I have sattelited in (English Poker Open, UKIPT Nottingham etc).  Have i a great record? No!!   A couple of APAT NL final tables a decent run in the Sky poker tour final.  Donked off decent chip stacks in both the EPO and UKIPT Nottingham falling on my sword  just before the close of Day 1 in both.

Online I am a micro sit n go grinder (duncthehat on stars) . decent graph is hopefully attached

To show how bad I am :  http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstars/duncthehat/poker/results/2A14371B53CF44F19B41CAD596C40E60.html?t=2

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=83511   (dtd have me down as Richard Duncan Hodgkins so a couple of min cashes are missing!!)

Hopefully you can see what you are getting!!.  not only this but the Horse and Stud events dont get that many amateur fish although it could be argued some of the pros that play these events are out of their comfort zone.

So to the staking:

I am selling 40 per cent of myself at a straight 1 to 1.   I am playing these tournaments whether I am backed or not.   10 per cent is already sold.   i may open up a further 10 per cent if the demand is there but no more than that.

10 per cent shares in one event are $150 or 5 per cent at $75 .  Please indicate which event you want to stake.

conversion to pounds is via www.xe.com at whatever that days rate may be.

Payment would be cheque via post direct bank transfer or cash payment by arrangement at dtd closer to the date.  I would rather not do ps transfers.

All backers would get a confirmation letter detailing their stake.  My home address telephone numbers etc are a given.

Again absolutely no idea what response will be like.  Hopefully the opportunity to back a horse at the wsop in a couple of the less popular events may be something that appeals!

Cheers for reading   Dunc
