Title: Red/Black
Post by: pleno1 on February 25, 2011, 01:57:58 AM
You are playing in a 100nl game and your live bankroll is around 7/8k. You are playing red/black with a rich guy on the table who owns all the Vodaphone shops in Spain.

You have  Ks 2c UTG and fold, he hasn't looked at his cards and tells you we can bet for however much you like.

How much do you bet?

Your stack, £100ish i guess. If you lose you can stop playing poker for a bit. If you win you've won £100 or whatever.

Just to confirm, he's willing to bet more than what's on the table.

Assuming I am understanding the game then you have roughly a 4% advantage right???  It wouldn't be much more than a minimum bet for me so 1% or so of bankroll.  Given that this proposition is purely a mathematical bet rather than, say, a sports bet where you need to factor in a margin of error then maybe a bit more but I never bet more than 5% of bankroll on anything at all even when I think I have a 20%+ edge so about 1% seems right.  Have to LOL at Dwan talking about betting 60% of net worth on a 50-50!!!!
