I wanted other opinions. The fish with K10 is now tournament chip leader, he's jsut done the same thing again. My bet is he will be out soon (one can but hope). Not playing until 5pm now as I feel tilty.

I would have flat called the kings and folded unless I made trips on the flop.

;chieften; thwack

Not playing until 5pm now as I feel tilty.

Good man, hard thing to do sometimes.

No you wouldn't. Pre flop is not a time to be flat calling with 7 limpers all limping for 240.

Ok, without being facetious, I would have made the initial raise bigger than 100. I want my Kings all-in against one opponent in a tournament.

There's 5 limpers in front of you, I'd make it 8/9 times BB to play.

Just to be clear, I was joking. Dang written word. My point is you got it all-in with the best of it, can't hope for much more than that.

Thought you where jokin, just had to make sure.

Okay, "8/9 times BB" is commited to memory. Cheers tank.

Not always, just with that many limpers, it seems necessary to put in a big raise. As I say, you're shooting for the ideal tournament scenario of being all-in pre-flop against one opponent with your KK. (Ideal so long as they've not got AA)

Only if my name was Billy.

Anyway, I went all in second time around when the bet was 200 and they still all called :D

In my experience the players on Virgin, at the lower stakes at least, will call with almost anything for up to 10/15% of their stack in the early stages of STT's and MTT's.

If you want to gamble, go ahead and raise to 4 or 5 times the BB. If you  want only one or two callers, the raise needs to be 10 x BB! Maybe even more with all those limpers in front of you.

Bizarre, but true in my experience.

I've made a standard a raise with JJ and had seven callers, i.e. everyone who hadn't already folded. In another instance, I was in the BB for the first hand of the tournament with AK and had nine (!) limpers before I acted. My all in was called in three places.

You were lucky someone re-raised to enable you to go all in. Otherwise you would have had 8 callers!

I was tooing and froing between a $30 STT where nobody was calling anything above a 4x BB raise, hence the first small raise :)

Thats the sort of hand thats made me pack in Virgin, the skill/luck ratio is incredible.  ;technophobe;

Initially my hands were holding up but it didnt last long. The standard is the worst I have encountered online which should be a good thing but having 3/4 fish on a table is different from having 7/8, it makes it almost impossible. The SnG structure is garbage as it turns into a crapshoot after about 30 hands cos of the slow software.

BTW it didnt matter how you played it they were all coming with you.

True... I guess they where coming along anyway. But I've had good experience with virgin lately, especially in the $20/$30 MTTs, cashing in at least one every day for the last week giving me a nice sizable roll to play $30 and $50 STTs. But, Im fairing badly in the STTs. Although today I've recouped my busted MTT fees from STTs so its not all bad, but no profit  ::)

My problem with the boss network is not the software - the speed has been fine for a while now, but the fact theres just not enough middle stake players or games. Most people are happy to play at $3-$5 and whilst that was the case with me a month ago when I couldn't be arsed playing online, I've now got a couple of thousand sitting there and the thought of earning another $10-$25 is a bit boring :D

That, and theres not enough tourneys either. 1 an hour and most are small entry fees. I think I'll stay for a little while, then I'll whack some of the money accross to stars.

Cracking plan, why wait?

Untill they have Poker managers, Hand histories notes etc... I would whack all the money into Stars asap.
