Title: Car insurance
Post by: EvilPie on February 28, 2011, 07:54:14 PM
Tesco can GTFO. Last year £800 ish. This year £1250.

'Don't worry Mr Russell, you don't need to take any action, we'll just auto rape your bank account including the 50% hike'.

Had a look round and Liverpool Victoria are coming in way lower than everyone else.

LV is £600. Next best £800.

Almost seems too cheap.

Anybody had any experience with LV for car insurance?

My mate used them when he got his first job as a salesman as they were really good for business cover. I know of a few people who used them for modded car insurance too.

I used to use LV.

Had two claims, the first one (my car was broken into and they attempted to steal it outside the casino in Luton!) went super smooth but the second was ridiculous.

Was kept waiting for six weeks for them to even inspect the car to confirm it was a write off and I didn't get a payout for about 6 months after the accident.

I left them straight afterwards.

The key with car insurance is to switch each year, or at least get a quote to batter your current company with. They rely on customer laziness each year, it's part of their business model.

I'm with admiral currently, but when it comes for renewal we'll see if they're still the cheapest for my circumstances.

With regards to the service you receive when you claim, it's difficult to know until it happens. There will always be anecdotal evidence about every insurer as to them being good or bad.
