Title: RSQ number 47, the revenge of the hippo-whale Post by: ItsMrAlex2u on March 02, 2011, 06:48:59 PM Ok you lousy bunch of stitch up merchants. You forced me to win through some extremely questionable QM'ing and although Tighty could have saved me at the end with his knowledge of hitler and red heads he chose not to (or the QM wasnt listening, I am not sure).
Any-who, onto the next phase of farce. You asked for it..... Rules n stuff: 1) No fecking googling. If I even suspect googling then expect to be failed. So pick out an obscure answer at your peril. 2) Refer to rule number 1 3) Answers to me by 7pm Monday 7th 4) Reveal 8pm Tuesday 8th 5) Incorrect answers will get the highest score + 5 6) You must pass on 1 question - you shouldnt actually need the pass as all questions should be answerable but use the fecker anyway. Tactics may come into play here 7) Be warned, I will be looking for any excuse for failures. I may accept marginal spelliing mistakes but any hint of an excuse for failing your answer then expect to feel the full force of FAIL Questions ..... OK, you know the deal, PM's please with answers on a seperate line and numbered, blah blah blah. You may recognise 1 or 2. Note that what may once have been a fail may not always be a fail.... May I remind you of a couple of points before we farce. “You must pass on 1 question” 5 point penalty for starters for Longines and The Crow, wp. “Be warned, I will be looking for any excuse for failures. I may accept marginal spelling mistakes but any hint of an excuse for failing your answer then expect to feel the full force of FAIL” Some of the questions were left deliberately open to a bit of interpretation – but if your interpretation was different to mine – guess what – FAIL There are 29 entrants and 76 fails I think. GL with trying to get those over turned…. I have allowed Mondatoo as a late entry. I may regret this as it has meant rushed amendments to the spreadsheet. If it goes wrong I might just make him win. If you are expecting pictures – Forget it If you are expecting even readable formatting – Forget it This can only go well. I expect a good clean quiz, no kidney punches, no rabbit punches and no punches below the belt. Reveal at 8pm..... Only caribou and reindeer have females with antlers, though much smaller than their male counterparts. When they grow, they are covered in a thin fuzzy skin covering called "velvet" which contains blood supply to help the antlers grow. This skin covering is shed before rutting season. Horns are a pointed projection of skin and hair of an animal, consisting of a layer of keratin surrounding a living bone core. Animals that have horns include all those in the family Bovidae (bovines, sheep, goats and antelope). Horns usually have a spiral or curved shape, with ridges or fluting. I though it could not get worse than Jon MW, then came Laxie part one, then Delboy, then Laxie Part 2
Laxie Part 2 saw RSQ descend to such depths that no format could recover. Ever Alex merely confirms this. Over 6m cases of Crunchies are shipped ever year and not one fucker who eats one gives a toss as to whether the honeycomb that produces those lovely holes inside the chocolate has holes than go all the way through the food What the complete fucking hell mind process is that QM? Take a look (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/Crunchie_bar.jpg/290px-Crunchie_bar.jpg) Holes. Lots and lots of holes in a food. You fail Honeycomb. Therefore I don't win Well that's marvellous. I haven't even read back for the other questions yet Who won? Trip5. Who has since sent me an assortment of messages on various social media accusing me of stitching her up. No Irene I wouldn't stitch you up as I want to win these things. Its the only way I can guarantee not wanting to self harm with a stocking over my head, half an orange in my mouth and the Amsterdam guide to self asphyxiation perched in front of me, stuck open with two clothes pegs at the requisite page So, I better not read the rest of the thread.
