I wasn't going to post this HH but it's seemingly topical at the moment.

Playing 0.50/1 at Gala Notts last night. Villain is a old Greek man named Jimmy. A local legend, plays every day, wins money for sure in the local comps but is basically bad. We have a lot of history and I have stacked him three times in this session already. He has since won a massive pot and is playing £500, I cover.

I open  Kc Kh UTG to £6 he 3bets to £21, I tank and 4bet to £56. He tanks plays with his £5 chips for a while, then goes to his stack of ponies and makes it £129.

Based on my history with him and my read, I was 90% sure he flats with QQ> or AK here when we're 500bbs deep.

I've never folded kings pre before but really thought this was a spot where I should.

well if he aint raising withless than KK or AA then its an easy fold

yeh edited it to 90% sure. He does do things that surprise me occasionally. But given gameflow and the fact he was down 4 or 5 hundred then got back to level or winning I thought it wasn't likely he was tilted.

ok so you think its 90% likely your a 4-1 dog then you need a hell of a lot more in pot to make this a worthwhile call

i have never been able to fold kings in a cash game cause i have never been able to convince myself he has aces even if i have an inkling he has aces i have always stacked off

yeh lol when i opened, he had the £6 ready then just when i thought he was gonna peel he grabs a big stack of singles and just sticks it in. always makes me chuckle.

this is where Jimmy gives you the wink and flashes the  4c as his cards hit the muck.

Also what position is jimmy in ? Does he 3bet much etc ?

I have only ever folded Kings preflop once and it was a similar spot but tbh in these lower stakes games 4betting and 5betting light is so rare that they normally have a big hand and the only trick is to get an idea just how wide that range is for that individual player ie. is it JJ+, AKo+ in which case you can get it in profitably or is it basically KK+ in which case it is an easy fold.  I don't know the guy but I would say "old greek man" is a pretty big tell in a vacuum.  The normal rule I use in these circumstances when I have queens is if they player is over 55 I fold if he is younger then I call!!!

you should probably flat the 4bet this deep. It may very well be a correct fold, but i think calling the 4bet is better than 5bet folding this deep with so much money behind.

We discussed this at the time (I dealt this hand lol). Is one of those spots where it's a definate fold IMHO. Like you said, you were 90% sure, and I think that's pretty close to the percentage your right in this spot (if not more).

Are we really discussing how to beat Jimmy in this thread? This place has gone downhill.

Anyway, as for the fold I think his 3 bet range consists of AA, KK and AK, let alone his 5 bet range, so I'm cool with it (this whole thread is a thinly disguised I play well brag, isn't it?)

As for Jimmy being bad, you can't really knock his results, and in the end that's what matters.

You should just call the 3 bet to £21 given your description of him.

4finger Jimmy is comedy - the other day somebody made a river call by slamming a big stack of chips down very near JImmys fingers, Jimmy points at his stub and angrily shouts "Look what you did!" Was hilarious

Jimmy does 3b with stuff other than AK KK and AA so a 4bet is fine here I think, and he defo peels with worse and wont fold JJ on Thigh boards etc. I did think about just peeling though fwiw

Yeah i disagree with people saying peeling 3bet is best. Obviously now we've been 4-bet we wish we had just peeled but this guy does 3bet other stuff than AK KK AA and will peel with them for sure. Im convinced peeling will be his most common reaction to the 4-bet and therefore i like 4b/folding this deep. WPOPIMO TTFN
