Bet of the 1st round imo is Robertson to beat Trump.  Trump this Trump that after his win last week, but he's had an average season, Robertson is still a class above although he's still not completely out of his old carefree habits on occasion, he should be bang on this.

Winner of Williams/Day to go far too, Hawkings my outside bet to do well.

Backed Allen to win the lot but still think Higgins will do it.

I'm on allen@25s and fu at 90s. Also small ew on jamie cope@66-1.

Allen has made the quarters and semis in the last two years and seems suited to the crucible, fu is underrated and has the game to surprise.

I think jamie's quarter is viewed as dominated by selby and ding, obv rightly so, but one result cld change all that, and mr cope is ultra talented.

I like Allen, bit couldn't back him with his depression problems. Not a great Selby fan, but playing well into form at the mo.

Yeah am very pleased with the Selby bet - he is now into 6.2
The other 2 have gone the other way though - Walden is now available at 200's!

I have gone small on Allen to beat Stevens, but his personal issues are a major worry for a tournament this long - although he does have good form at the crucible.

Quite a few players to keep match bets to a minimum on this year - Allen, O'Sulliavn, King

Probably my favourite sport to spread bet on - gotta love the 50 ups volatility  :)

Not the best day yesterday - unlucky with my Perry bet when he missed a brown in the decider when looking like he was going to nick it.
Maguire once again flattered to deceive - should have won that game easily in my opinion - but well done Chip, although cant really see Hawkins going any further.

I have A small interest in Ali Carter at 14s e/w. Top quarter of the draw is pretty weak, I think..or at least inconsistent....with Fu and Trump up there and not many big guns

There seems to be an extraordinarily large ratio of left-handers in top flight snooker at present.

only this afternoon I was thinking how honourable the game still is when o'sullivan refused to accept the ref's decision of a free ball because he thought he could see both sides. that cost him a frame he would've won if he'd just accepted it

He had a half-table shot at the last red which was very tight but he could just squeeze past the black and pot it.

He asked the ref. to clean the black but he refused presumably because he thought he was angle shooting.

Would have been funny if he'd cleaned it and replaced it so that he couldn't get at the red.

I once saw Alex higgins do something similar twenty-odd years ago.

That Selby result was a real shocker and means definately no profit for the tournament now  :'(

I'm not sure if he was angle shooting or not - it looked like he easily had enough room to get past the black - but surely there was as much chance of the ref putting the black ball in a slightly worse position than a slightly better one!!!

it does sound a bit odd but what other reason is there for having the black cleaned there? unless there's an obvious mark on it but I'm assuming there wasn't as surely the ref would've agreed to do it if there was

it keeps getting mentioned that he's not been tested yet/has no form in coming from behind so presumably this is being reflected in the odds as the matches get longer. can't see that it matters though when you're playing as well as he is, it's hard to see him going far behind to anyone

Not been caught by the buzz I suppose so annoying when everybody is going on about him.
Last session commentator said he took a long pot on and played it as a shot to nothing. If the red had rattled the pocket and not dropped as it did I'm sure it would/could have been an easy pot. They made out like he'd made it into some incredible win win shot when it was really just a good long pot.
Also the hair. He's got a terrible barnet and people have made out he's like the new Paul Hunter of snooker.
I think he's very good but people are grasping for a superstar and quite biased in there comments/commentary rather than just judging what is there and comparing it to others impartially.

Snooker needs Trump in this current lull in the sports popularity. I hope he wins the world title on Monday!!!

How sad was that little feature on Paul Hunter? Such a shame, but great to see his name live on in such a good cause.

1st semi was awesome, 2 players at the top of their game, hopefully this'll be the first of many classic games between these 2 over the next decade. they will both win world champs

2nd semi very meh, higgins has to be glad he was in the half of the draw that avoided the other 2

No. He's still played pretty poorly, missing so many easy balls and bad cueing.  I am a massive Higgins fan and hope he does it, will be great to see him going round Celtic park with his world championship crown as we unfurl the flag as league winners ;-)

Higgins didn't play his best snooker and had a tough draw. Deserves a lot of credit for winning.
