Title: George Geary
Post by: TightEnd on April 17, 2011, 08:57:50 PM
News from AWOP, and posted at the request of a blonde member

"apparently george has had a major heart attack, so serious i am led to believe,
that brain damage has occurred and life support being turned off is imminent.
george lived for poker and was always a regular face at all the major festivals,
as well as some of the biggest cash games in the northwest.
most of us have played with george many times, he is a real gent.
our thoughts are with his family at this time, especially his two sons who travelled
the circuit with george, and who also love the game we play.
we had already discussed the irish open and george was really looking forward to playing this year,
he had already bought in to the irish showpiece.
not a lot more i can add really just such a shock and very sad indeed."

Very sad news, George would always come up to Scotland in the days when we had some decent festivals.

Devestated by this news. George has been furniture on the UK scene for literally decades now.

Looks like he's drawing thin, but all my best wishes & hopes that he can get out of this.

That's very sad news, but was expected, & perhaps, in the end, for the best.

Condolences to his family.

It was a pleasure to know George over the last 10 or 12 years, the little world of poker will be the poorer for his absence.

RIP, George.
