Title: Just had the biggest sweat of my life! Post by: Woodsey on April 20, 2011, 02:13:05 PM Going to Vegas with my parents tomorrow, I booked and sorted everything for them including filling in the ESTA forms for permission to enter the USA.
Tried to check them in online this morning and it would not let my Mum check in as she did not have the ESTA approved apparently. It actually was approved BUT I had put an S at the end of my mums first name by accident so the spelling was in accurate. Made a few phone calls this morning to the US embassy and even though there was that minor error on the form, there is no way she would be admitted to the USA as all the details have to be accurate. They would not change the spelling on the form the only way I could sort it out was to re-apply for permission to enter. Permission can take up to 3 days to be granted, sigh................ Filled out the forms and re-applied at 10am this morning and didn't say anything to them hoping it would get it granted in time. Just had the email through 10 mins ago saying its all good to go, thank god it was processed so quickly. Haven't had a sweat that big in a long, long time :D Maybe its the start of some run good for Vegas :)up Title: Re: Just had the biggest sweat of my life! When you put in a new ESTA application the old one gets cancelled but I had to do it as the embassy told me categorically she would not get in unless the details were correct. As she is in her late 70's I couldn't do it to her, I would have delayed her flight 24 hours and paid for a new flight myself if I had to. |
