Title: EPT San Remo thread
Post by: TightEnd on April 26, 2011, 10:09:39 AM
Every year EPT San Remo breaks records and Season 7 is likely to be no exception. The event will be running April 27 – May 3 at Casino Sanremo with a wealth of tournaments including the €5,000 Main Event, €10,000 tournament, Womens Event and Mixed Game tourney.

The Season 6 EPT San Remo was a staggering success. A total of 1,240 players turned up to this beautiful Italian seaside resort to create a record prize pool of more than €6 million.

British poker pro Liv Boeree won the €1,250,000 first prize and became only the third woman in EPT history to win a champion’s title. The 25-year-old astrophysics graduate follows in the footsteps of fellow Brit, Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren, who won EPT London in Season 3 and German Team PokerStars Pro Sandra Naujoks who won EPT Dortmund in Season 5.

The 987 players that entered EPT San Remo - the fourth time a European Poker Tour event has taken place in the coastal Italian town - have contributed to a huge €4,786,950 prize pool. This year's winner will not only walk away with €930,000 and the bragging rights of claiming the crown from Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree but a stunning Shamballa Jewels bracelet, which is itself worth €16,000.

EPT San Remo is the penultimate event this season. The grand final takes place in Madrid at the beginning of May.
