Title: A couple of quick spot qs
Post by: cambridgealex on April 30, 2011, 01:57:13 AM
Live 50/1 at DTD. Game is quite big and very aggro for DTD. A few guys spewing around. quite a lot of bluffs being shown. very unlike normal dtd 50.1 game.

1) one limp, i raise KK to £6- 5 callers.  Js 8s 5c checks to me, I bet £20 into £30. BB calls, EP limper calls.  Qh on the turn, BB checks. EP limper bets £36 playing 30 behind. We? (BB has about 70ish too) Jam right?

2) Villain has come from a 1/2 table with about 900. Has lost about 4 buyins since at 50/1 and keeps reloading and topping up. He is aggro, spewy and bad. Mid 40s. Has been opening to 12x. I also suspect tilted. one limp, I raise AQ from MP to £6. One caller on the button. Villain 3bets from the BB to £26. We started the hand with £100. We? Jam right?

1, no, we have to put at least one of the villains on a hand that have us beat. sigh fold for me.

2, no, with only 6 quid in the pot we can let this one go. Villain may have us crushed already, or at best we are flipping (if hes soo spewy I presume hes calling a shove quite light), even if we are flipping as good as 60/40, why do we feel the need to flip against someone who is tez? Pick your spots to outplay this ATM.

1. Sigh fold
2. Jam seems ok

1. I'm jamming. He's bet 36 into 91, its going to cost you 66 to win 157 assuming he calls your jam. Don't like the BB behind but I'm thinking he's flushing.

2. Hate stacking off with AQ even if hes tilted. I'd probably be a nit and fold.

lol, just cos we've only invested 6quid doesnt mean there's only 6quid in the pot. There's now 6+6+26 = 38 in the pot. We are not "at best flipping" imo, we crush some of his range here surely. he doesn't have to have AKor QQ+ at all.

If a nit such as yourself said YES YES then I'd feel better about it.

I did change my mind on this before I posted. Originally I was going to say if rolled deep, then why not take the gamble, as you say a large proportion of the time you are going to be ahead of his range. Though after a little thought, do we need to be getting 100 bigs in pre with AQ against an oppo who we know we can out play in future pots.

hand 1 - get it in - you are ahead of enough and you have plenty outs

hand 2 - fold or jam - dont hate either

Fold hand 1 and if that's a sigh fold then you're probably calling too much in situations like this.

Hand 2 fistpumping it in

Easy fold
Easy get in

Not sure the first q is an easy fold but on balance it is probably a fold.  His line looks a lot like 9T suited or possible JQ.  Easy shove for the second

lol are you trying to level all of PHA atm?

Hand 1 is a pretty std fold imo.

Hand 2, get it in and sigh if he does have a hand.

That's an excellent point. It's definitely my biggest leak. How can I get better at this?!

(Notice textbook usage of an interrobang there)

yh hand is a trivial fold imo

hand 2 you're doing great vs his 3b calling range and i suspect he may well be doing the old 3bet/fold-call where you're tilted and make a bad 3bet where you should be 3bet folding but end up 3bet clling cos its £70 and you wanna get there....

You're playing live- you have all the time in the world to think through your decisions. Just think about what hands he flats the flop with and bet/calls this turn. I can't really think of anything that you beat here. Maybe a passively played Qxss but thats seems a stretch when he's this short
