Title: Gloomy about this year's WSOP? Dont be, all is well. Post by: tikay on May 13, 2011, 09:25:53 AM A Winning Pair:
Dearfoams is the Official Footwear Sponsor at the World Series of Poker LOS ANGELES, CA (MAY 12, 2011) Dearfoams is bringing maximum comfort to Las Vegas as the Official Footwear Sponsor of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the 2011 and 2012 events in Las Vegas. The WSOP, the longest-running, largest and most prestigious gaming event in the world, will kick-off on May 31, 2011 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. As Official Footwear Sponsor, Dearfoams logo, signage and thousands of pairs of slippers will appear on-site throughout the tournament. Nancy Coons, President of Dearfoams Slippers, wants to make attendees more comfortable by providing complimentary slippers to all WSOP Main Event participants and during select additional events, including the Ladies World Championship on July 1. WSOP dealers and ESPN’s camera crew are also welcome to join in and feel more relaxed by coming to work every day during the event in comfortable Dearfoams slippers! Dearfoams also will be launching a promotion for one lucky consumer to win a $10,000 seat to the 2010 WSOP Main Event, a chance to win WSOP’s most coveted bracelet and spend a lifetime kicking back -- in comfortable Dearfoams slippers, of course. “We are very excited to partner with the WSOP,” says Mark Zobel, V.P. of Marketing for the R.G. Barry Corporation, the parent company of Dearfoams. “Dearfoams will enable players at the WSOP Main Event to ‘make themselves comfortable’ at the table, allowing them to worry about their hand, not about their feet.” “This is an exciting opportunity for us and a unique way for Dearfoams to reach a broader male audience, who may not be as familiar with our brand as women. They’re the perfect pair whether at a poker table, running errands, heading to class, or just kicking back at home”, added Zobel. “Our champion last year won nearly $9 million while wearing flip flops, so we know poker players covet comfort in their pursuit of glory,” said WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart. “But let’s face it, flip flops aren’t so comfortable. So we have partnered with Dearfoams – who makes the world’s most comfortable slippers – so players can now feel truly comfy as they pursue their dreams of winning the WSOP and going on to live a life of leisure where it will be appropriate to wear Dearfoam slippers 24/7.”For more information about Dearfoams, visit www.Dearfoams.com. Catch the WSOP tournament play with Dearfoams as the Official Footwear of the World Series of Poker on ESPN this summer and fall. What price there isn't a single person who can qualify for the hall of fame at the final table of this year's main eventy? Title: Re: Gloomy about this year's WSOP? Dont be, all is well. To be fair, being on WSOPME FT is not really a criteria for induction into the HOF Title: Re: Gloomy about this year's WSOP? Dont be, all is well. Title: Re: Gloomy about this year's WSOP? Dont be, all is well. Post by: redarmi on May 13, 2011, 05:03:55 PM It is a ridiculous rule. If they had that rule in the NFL/NBA HoF then it would have about three members. Don't see why poker has to be any different. I have never played the wsop but it does seem lke a bit of a circus tese days with Harrahs selling out the event to the highest bidders yet the players are still required to pay reg fees and instead of adding money the sponsors give you a pair of slippers......a pair of slippers FFS!!!! Wish someone would organise a boycott tbh.
