Title: Can you walk on a broken leg? Post by: outragous76 on May 24, 2011, 09:59:12 PM I play softball and the ball hit me in the shin - its pretty swollen and is getting to the point where when i fully loadbear on my leg it hurts (feels like its due to a massive pressure build it). I can walk ok if i just walk on my toes of that leg
its pretty swollen - should i sweat it out or be going to A&E (I really cba to go to A&E), but dont wanna lose a foot - anyone got good experience? Title: Re: Can you walk on a broken leg? Probably just badly bruised and having done that a few times whilst kickboxing I can tell you it hurts like hell. I've had my shins in so much pain I couldn't bear to even touch them. my middle child Chloe fell and hurt her leg when she was 18 months old (almost ten years ago) Alison took her straight to Leicester royal infirmary cos she was screaming with pain the doctor that saw her examined it at said its just bruised because she can walk and put pressure on it told to give her ibuprofen a few days later still in pain we took her to the doctors who sent her to the hospital x ray............. spiral fracture ...... the doctor that then saw her with the x ray could not believe it was same child that was standing with that x ray so yes you can walk on broken leg Title: Re: Can you walk on a broken leg? As for softballs not breaking bones - trust me, when they come off bats its an easy break. I was just lucky that it was a girl batting and not a boy. Matt - any tips on quick healing of shins? Post by: millidonk on May 25, 2011, 11:51:32 AM When my lil bro was at school about 11 years old, he slipped and fell in the playground, he was crying for an age and saying his leg hurt, the dinner lady was having none of it and made him walk back to class, after school my mum took him to hospital and his leg was broke in 2 places. So yea you can walk on it, but its probs not very pleasant. He used to cry all the time any ways so wasn't much of an indicator...

When i broke mine playing football the bottom half of the tibia stayed on the floor when lifting the leg up, like an extra joint in the leg. |
