Title: Past prices.
Post by: thetank on June 06, 2011, 01:03:15 AM
Is there anywhere that keeps a record of what prices the bookies were giving before an event had taken place?

For example, if for some reason I wanted to know what price you could have gotten for Arsenal to beat Stoke on 23rd February of this year. Obv the data is readily available up to kick off on 23rd, but is there anywhere that collects such data for later reference? I'm thinking newspaper archives may be my best bet, but thought I'd ask in case someone knows of something better?

Bookies tend to keep old copies of the Racing Post - could maybe ask in there to have a look at a copy from the date you want to find out about.

If you go to football-data.co.uk they have spreadsheets with a heap of data in on past matches in excel.  This includes the bookies prices, asian lines etc.

any internet bookie could tell you what they were offering. not sure about getting info for all bookies.

around 1/3 in the specific match you mention.
