Title: Straw poll required
Post by: Eso Kral on June 06, 2011, 10:56:42 AM
Hi,
This hand was slightly misrepped on the updates and between people who i know and respect provoked a mixed response so wanted to post it up and all i am asking is if you would call fold shove and a short explanation as to why.

DTD 300   level 75/150
Villain has limped a lot in position not really shown any major hands
I have been active and apart from James Tomlin and Dan Ward have been the only player 3betting but i have shown no weak holdings

My stack size is 11400 and i am sat in the sb, Villain has circa 15k and is in the button is a reg on here so can play but i would say no G2L moves in him.
Folds to villain on the button who makes it  450
I have Ahrt Qs and click it back to 1100   villain 4bets to 3450
I 5bet shove all in and get snapped by KK am i right in thinking its a shove or fold?  flatting is just tez but what do you do???

Just call the 450, villain sounds likely to be folding all worse to the 3b and stick it in your eye with better.

After the way I ran with aq online last night its a fold pre, but as played you have to shove or fold can't put over 25% stack in with a call pre

don't understand why we've 3b

wow, seems v.spewy.

Peel pre, if I was in position I'd 3b/f I think, although calling seems ok too.

fold or peel pre...op we are all at sea when we miss..... with almost 80 bb at the start of the hand there is no need for this pot to get so out of control...

why jam with 10 % invested... apart from complete air you are destroyed pre....

Why are people suggesting to fold AQ to a button open 80bbs deep ?

Just peel pre, no other options come close imo.

Why would you 3b/f IP, surely OR is more likely to call with worse in position, so better to 3b/f OOP, flat IP?

I used to 3 bet AQ from the blinds until I realised what a great way it is of losing chips.

Just flat it mate. You're under repped and most people will spew when you flop well. If you miss just give up.

As for the 5 bet shove I don't care who I'm up against or how many G2L type moves he's capable of I'm never throwing 80 bigs in to a pot pre with AQo

Having come away from the comp i realised this was spewy but it was interesting that a few regs at dtd felt a 5bet shove fitted well, obv they are just spewtards as well.

Thx for feedback

100% flat pre. villan limps a lot then he raises here should smell a bit. i personally flat as i dont want to inflate a pot oop. if electing to 3 bet you need to have a plan which imo would be folding to the four bet. if he is one of the 90% in this tourney he never 4 bets light here. and  if he is in the 90% he cant get away from KK even if there is an ace on the board. always try to lose the min and win the max in this comp. a good recipe for success.

just ask the dtd regs what hands they expect your 5 bet jam to be called by that AQ is any good against....and what 4 bet hands he is holding he is able to give up......
feel like  captain Quinn of the Orca  ;whale; in Jaws but....... "If you wanna know anything chief. Then you come n see me first"  ;shark;

im your man  ;kneelsucker;

Jason's you're talking a lot of sense recently. Good stuff.

I personally would be able to get away from JJ on on J97T8 board. I mean, you're chopping at best and he probably has a queen, QJ, QT KQ something like that. You could have lost less by not calling allin and by folding on the river I think.

Rich, please pm me who the DTD regs are who 5bet shove AQo vs random live players in a £300 donkament, I want to bumhunt them :)
