Title: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: MrMoves on January 03, 2006, 11:39:44 AM I just popped down to my local bookies, to pick up some winnings for a change, and saw they had Utd priced up at 11/8 for this game. This is about right I reckon.
However, they are 2/1 on Betfair this morning. I think this is good value. Arsenal are a fading force, although they've won most games at home the opposition in almost each case was poor. Arsenal are struggling to score goals Arsenal didn't rest key players over Xmas Utd are very strong away from home Utd are scoring freely Utd haven't lost to Arsenal, apart from in the FA Cup on penalties, for a long time. I've taken 2/1, I think Utd will win this by a couple of goals. Caution: My tips come with a wealth warning ::) Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 11:42:57 AM hush now ;tracet;
Arsenal to win 2-1 imo although I'm not betting on that :D I may bet on overs. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: MrMoves on January 03, 2006, 11:48:56 AM Arsenal to score twice? In one game! ;)
Ljungberg and van Persie are out, injured. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 11:52:01 AM I just cant bet against them :D
Henry will save us Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Karabiner on January 03, 2006, 12:17:41 PM I never bet on Arsenal games as I can't trust myself to make a rational betting decision.
However I concur with Mr.Moves' analysis and fear the worst tonight. But my beloved Arsenal do have a habit of pulling rabbits out of the hat when I am close to despair. Come on you Gunners ;cheerleader; ;cheerleader; ;cheerleader; ;karabiner; ;karabiner; ;karabiner; ;cheerleader; ;cheerleader; ;cheerleader; Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: dan on January 03, 2006, 12:44:21 PM Arsenal are struggling to score goals in our last home game we scored 4. ok it was against portsmouth but it was 4. we have won every game at home this season apart from the chelsea game which we wrongly had a goal ruled out for offside which would of put us 1 nil up Arsenal didn't rest key players over Xmas united only rested van nistlerooy. pires, reyes nor gilberto played against villa and will all play tonight Ljungberg and van Persie are out, injured. ljungberg hasnt scored a league goal all season so i dont think that is a problem but van persie will be missed. i think we will get at least a draw tonight but i fancy us for a 2-1 win with bergkamp to score 1st Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 01:10:32 PM i was toying with Bergkamp to score first again. I had him for the Pompy game and think he'll do it again tonight.
I think I'll wait for confirmation that he is starting first though. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Jim-D on January 03, 2006, 01:15:21 PM I think I'll wait for confirmation that he is starting first though. What other choice do they have? only have a squad of about 16 dont they Rooney 1st scorer @ 7/1, as for the score i think maybe 1-1 or United to sneak it 2-1 Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 01:27:21 PM he could play henry and reyes up front and bring bergkamp on later on. he cant play 90 mins so may prefer to see how things go.
I dont know...... Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: yt on January 03, 2006, 02:01:16 PM Was meant to back manu but backed arsholes by mistake. I've gotta stop ballsing up my paddy power account. only £20 lets see what happens!
Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: MrMoves on January 03, 2006, 02:53:49 PM Arsenal are struggling to score goals in our last home game we scored 4. ok it was against portsmouth but it was 4. we have won every game at home this season apart from the chelsea game which we wrongly had a goal ruled out for offside which would of put us 1 nil up I stand by that comment. Arsenal put 4 past Portsmouth, true. Look back further beyond that one result, to the start of December: Villa - 0 Chalton - 1 Doncaster - 2 Chelsea - 0 Newcastle - 0 Ajax - 0 Bolton - 0 Against Villa they had 3 shots on target in 90 minutes. Is this a team scoring freely? I'm not denying Arsenal have good home form, but they haven't beaten anybody of note at Highbury. No matter what the result it's sure to be a great game to watch as always Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: SQ on January 03, 2006, 04:27:48 PM Gone for Arsenal 3-1 myself at 29/1 with Betfair.
I fancy Arsenal to up their game against United, but Man Utd have only failed to score one Premier League game this season (against Liverpool) so best value bet looks like 3-1 to me. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 05:17:40 PM 29 is great value if it comes in
I hope you are right :) Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Colchester Kev on January 03, 2006, 05:26:55 PM I support 2 teams .. Spurs, and whoever is playing the @rse ..... COME ON MAN. UTD !!!!!

My cheers are almost as heartfelt when you concede a goal as when we score one, and I'm supposed to be grown-up >:? Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Karabiner on January 03, 2006, 08:00:17 PM The lineup fills me with optimism, Fletcher and OShea in midfield.
We can dominate there, go on my cockers ! Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Colchester Kev on January 03, 2006, 08:27:26 PM @rse have all the possesion, but clueless in the final third
Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Colchester Kev on January 03, 2006, 08:34:57 PM The referee should hold up a 9.9 for Reyes diving skills ;)
Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Jim-D on January 03, 2006, 08:37:03 PM The referee should hold up a 9.9 for Reyes diving skills ;) really dislike that guy/girl Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 08:58:28 PM to much flashy stuff. come on Arsenal
Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Colchester Kev on January 03, 2006, 09:02:07 PM bit of a let down really, both sides cancelling each other out, Game needs an early second half rooney goal to liven it up :D
Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Jim-D on January 03, 2006, 09:03:13 PM bit of a let down really, both sides cancelling each other out, Game needs an early second half rooney goal to liven it up :D That would b loverrrrrrrllyy Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Karabiner on January 03, 2006, 09:06:03 PM A Van der Saar blunder would set it all up nicely(that's my prediction)
Hope the mancs don't change their midfield and we'll be fine. Looks like a 2-0 Gooners win to me ;cheerleader; ;slavedriver; ;cheerleader; Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 09:07:14 PM I could use Dennis coming on at half time. I knew I should have waited for the teamsheets before backing him 1st to score !

Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Colchester Kev on January 03, 2006, 09:47:11 PM The lineup fills me with optimism, Fletcher and OShea in midfield. We can dominate there, go on my cockers ! I think you will have to agree ralph, Fletcher has had a good game. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: brad.strider on January 03, 2006, 09:49:35 PM i think man u have had the better goal scoring chances, and yes fletcher has played well

By the way, i may be offline when we play City tomorrow night ;) Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: Graham C on January 03, 2006, 10:01:59 PM not the greatest of matches, fair result i guess
disapointing Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: MrMoves on January 03, 2006, 10:11:56 PM 0-0 was a fair scoreline, I think, in the end.
Horribly scrappy game. Too many mediocre midfielders on for both teams IMO. Title: Re: Arsenal vrs Man Utd Post by: yt on January 04, 2006, 11:11:47 AM I covered the draw and got back my investment! niceeeeeeeeeeeee
