Someone decipher, please Hand 3. This guy was a total tool, he kinda showed his colours early calling me down in a 3b pot w 88 on 910XQX board 3 streets (i had str8fldraw and obv bricked). So here i obv call for a middle pin nut draw in the blind hope that the good player has AA/1010 and i can stack someone hard. I hate having to CR the turn but unless i do im not gonna be able to shove the river v this guy, obv v an actual thinker i probs just c/c as he never puts me on nuts and will probs vbet if i check river as my hand looks a lot like AJ which cant continue. But then they would also have a hand............and brain cells. Nice river call sir! Title: Re: The funk for Alex. closer than i first thought (folding being correct), but if he folds only a small % (at first glance looks like the b/e point is around 20%) we make money, yer i think its ok, prefer it to shove pre with live tarps being set all the time. And..... yer, basically balancing ur range in a weak game with regs you wont play enough hands with for them to adjust properly (if they adjust at all, if there is a correct adjustment/if they make the correct adjustment) is sub-optimal. anyone thinking balance is important here is way off the mark i think. and..... Dont think building the pot in ssnl live is gonna be a problem. In deeper, nitfish-infested games then boom yes (because we can win it a lot of the time post anyway (when it goes 2/3way) and we get some camouflage on our range). fk im gonna patent that. and.... i quite like ur hem stats tbh, everyone subscribing to the same "one-size-fits-all" is boring and i like to see individual styles. There are 15/12 winners and losers and 40/30 winners and losers. Dont change ur style too much, always retain a bit of you. And... As played preflop is a slamdunk 3bet. As played id be check calling and not folding v this guy, his shit range and his absurd aggression And.... id like it more if it wasnt sb/bb, problem is he should have a lot of Ax floats in his range if hes decent. dont think sizing is optimal, i mean i like overbetting when you are betting a super-polarised range ofc, but i just think here you get too many correct hero's. that said, its rush and people arent thinking too much, so it might be the perfect way to exploit, who knows. The man has invented a whole new lingo of his own. Gotta love Alex. And if he wins this, he'll be out of the hole for at least a week. God bless Alex. Title: Re: The funk for Alex. Title: Re: The funk for Alex. Post by: George2Loose on June 14, 2011, 05:58:16 PM Wp Cos. From http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=44301.0:
Next up I bumped into Alan 'Lucky' McBride and we chatted briefly before he took me over to see Alex Martins table. He was going nicely on 9k thanks to one hand which me and Alan caught the end of. I'll do my best to report the hand as Alex explained when he came and said hi to us on the rail. "I'll cut a long story short - I decided to isolate a mid position limp from the BB, purely for metagame purposes as my opponent was playing an exploitable 34/9 style. Before you ask boys, I was intent I could still take a profitable line playing semi-deep/shallow OOP with a mediocre holding. Anyway after c-betting a double bellybuster gutshot draw I decided to make use of my scarlet-pimpernell-like image and checkraise the turn as the marginal line of EV I was taking appears stronger against a semi-weak lagtard fishstick opponent. The river was where it really got interesting for though - he opted to induce a bluff based on a read of tendencies and treat the hand as is played in a vacuum of a single raised orbit in which the aggressor became the aggressee. I wasn't going to stand for that so I min 3-bet bluffed to induce a 4-bet bluff. I then decided to 5-bet bluff all in cos, well, fuck it. I won". Title: Re: The funk for Alex. Can we assume they move one on when it gets down to 2 tables? If he is on his own, it must be pretty easy to miss action while typing up a hand history? It is probably reasonable to assume some kind of break on the redraw to 2 tables which would explain the gap? and gogogogo Alex FWIW Title: Re: The funk for Alex.
