Because they used to go on about the English seeing all positive Scottish stuff as being British, and negative Scottish stuff staying as Scottish. He's the best British tennis player probably ever, certainly in my lifetime, and that's something to be rightly proud of. Title: Re: Murrayometer Post by: Josedinho on June 28, 2011, 09:03:41 AM Murray has grown on me a little over the years but the reason I disliked him was he was that whenever he started losing he'd always make out he was injured and start limping round the court. He doesn't/didn't appear at all likeable on the court with all his moaning and then lobbing in a fake injury because he was losing used to annoy me. He wasn't world number 1. Nobody expected him to win all the time.
I'm not a huge Murray fan. There are many players that I prefer over him but I'm not against him anymore and he's certainly showed a more light hearted side over the years. I don't think it was just the English that disliked him either but I think the Scots feel better protecting their Andy from the nasty English.
