Title: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: david3103 on July 01, 2011, 02:50:18 PM The answer should at least settle a debate...
Player is reduced to say 300 chips when Blinds are 2000/4000/400 How much of the pot can he win at a 10 handed table assuming that he's not in the blinds? Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: George2Loose on July 01, 2011, 02:51:11 PM 300*10
Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: millidonk on July 01, 2011, 02:55:04 PM would like to say 3k but i could also see it being 3.6k with antes getting matched then 300 worth of each blind chucked in. Certainly no more.

3000 Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: gatso on July 01, 2011, 03:04:55 PM would like to say 3k but i could also see it being 3.6k with antes getting matched then 300 worth of each blind chucked in. Certainly no more. if not in the blinds then you can't win any of the blinds unless you vpip which you can't do if put ai by the antes 3k Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: MC on July 01, 2011, 03:12:44 PM 3k
Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: WarBwastard on July 01, 2011, 03:18:17 PM He has 75% of an ante so 75% of the total antes ..3,000.
Title: Re: Ruling query - of limited practical value Post by: JK on July 01, 2011, 03:20:34 PM Antes must always be paid, even if it constitutes a players full stack. The maximum this player can then win is his bet times by the number of people (in this case 300x10). The rest of the antes (100x10) should start the running sidepot. A player can only claim a pot into which he has put his equal share

Obv guessing by the OP that it wasn't a straight 3k otherwise it would just be wasting all of our time. 300*10 seemed right to me too - but one of the players at the table who I understand is a card room manager in one of the Newcastle casinos, insisted that the player concerned could win ALL the antes, ie. 400*10 in the example given. Like I said in the title, no real practical use to the answer other than to indicate the level of knowledge required to be a card room manager perhaps... self-dealt tournaments... why would you?
