Bet  180 to set up the river jam

yep. we're going to want to be saying the words "All-In" at some point in this hand.

his range to continue is actually getting a bit thin now, 99/TT might have a struggle calling again, there is only one Jack left and KT will only call now if they are red, but AQ can DEFO not fold and neither can KQ prolly so just bet enough to jam the river and hope he has one of those hands :P

imo saying call at some point in this hand will extract  the most out off this player. we are looking to get him to say all in and snap him off singing "aint noooo mountain high enough, aint noooo valley deep enough" (well we got the motown innit). i feel an all in from us lets him get off the hook with too many possible holdings he can have. we need to get him to shove to extract the max here. we aint clicking buttons here and i think it should not be too hard to get a lag who is up on the session to have a big bluff at this.

With the check on the turn line I am defo checking again. Give him a chance to bet any busted draws or hands he thinks he has value with.

Flatty, let them bluff it off lines are far more suited to shallower stacks (ie tournaments) where the stack to pot ratios on the flop are much smaller. We're 375 bbs deep to start this hand, its gunna be very hard to get all the money in without pushing the action here and if he's aggro then he still has plenty of room to bluff raise on the flop and turn. He's probably going to make a big bluff less often when he is facing a bet than when we check but the fewer times that he does bluff raise, he's putting in a chunk more money than when we check to him twice.

Checking this turn is pretty disastrous if he decides to take the free river with a hand like KT or Qx when he would have called a bet that lets us jam the river and get called when he can improve and still have the worst hand which would have called a river jam but because you checked the turn can now get to showdown much cheaper

very good points but you gotta remember this is LIVE 1/2 and villan is well up on session. i would not put it past em getting 375 bigs in. he only has to have half a decent hand for this and if he hsappens to have a decent hand then lets take his shirt, house and wife too

Can we not c/r the turn then? Looking at the hand on the turn if he's betting his value hands (AQ, KQ etc) can we not c/r and try to get the money in there? I don't like leading the turn too much in this spot, it looks super strong having 3 bet pre and bet the flop.

If we bet the turn and shove the river, what can we realistically expect him to call with? If he's remotely half-decent he surely never stacks off AQ or KQ?

As played, I'm tempted to just donk shove the river in the hope it looks weak. Pots 550 and we have with effective stacks just under a PSB left. Does he ever bet the river here with a one pair hand into a 550 pound pot?

mmmm. His range to bet is kinda the same as his range to call, except i think he'll chk back some % which makes betting better imo

Which is why I like bet/bet/jam

As far as live dynamics go I can see how this line may work a lot better for someone like myself or lildave given that due to our appearance we're immediately pegged as aggro internet kids than it might do for the OP as I don't know who rick_bubu is.

I actually had a hand exactly like this playing last night where I flopped a set in a 3bet pot and bet/bet/jammed QQ on Q95A9 when river was a pot size jam and got looked up by AJ - people just love to be the hero and using whatever betsize they think that you're going to bluff with is very effective, especially when the guy is up a chunk for the session and is willing to make the hero call

I'd have called you with the 5.

You know me dan. I have never played one hand with a 5 in it. Tell a lie I had pocket fives in the bb once and some one limped in. I was so uncomfortable in this situation that it was not until I checked the flop and the Villan bet before I was allowed to muck.
