Title: Interesting Live hand
Post by: pleno1 on July 22, 2011, 05:02:37 PM
Live 2/5 game in Vegas. We have an aggro image and we have $1300 stack. Villain in hand is 25ish, has played around 2 orbits and dont nothing out of the ordinary.

We raise UTG+1 to $20 w/ Kh Ks, fold to villain in c/o and he peels ($500stack)

Flop is  5h 4s 5c

We cbet $30 pretty quickly and he calls after around 6/7 seconds

Turn   Ad($115ish)

We think for around 6 seconds and bet $80 and he quickly goes for chips and under 15 seconds makes it $225 with around $200 behind.

We?

What is his value raising range here?

Meh, I reckon we're behind here more often than not. I think we could be over complicating things by thinking "Well, he doesn't put us on an Ace...maybe he floated the flop as we're unlikely to have a 5...he doesn't need to have something better than my pretty Kings etc. etc.".

I sigh fold.

i rmember when chris brammer played a similar hand to this, he bet turn really small then pot size jammed the river and was called by worse.

I'd fold

Doubt a random at 2/5 is aggro enough to turn mid pairs/underpairs into bluffs and we can't really give him credit for getting to the turn with many hands that are still air besides 67/78.

He probably called the flop with ace high because he's a station and 'you never have a 4 or a 5', has now turned gin and wants to get it in. I think thats a few more likely scanrio than the guy is fucking with you. He's also giving himself zero fold equity on the river, I think if he was good enough to be FOS here he'd recognise that and make it ~190/ jam river for ~280.

Yeah you're only getting two streets max out of smaller pairs once that card peels so i think you should check the ace, then the percieved credibility of your river value bet will be decreased
