Title: No snappy titles here Post by: david3103 on July 28, 2011, 11:00:45 AM £1/£2 cash
Similar table dynamic to the usual .50/£1 game and playing at similar depths in cash terms. Villain - playing £265. Regular, student, generally very straightforward but also known to make a move. He won a big pot earlier on the .50/1 table when he raised the button with 7s 8s got two flat calls and two shortstacks shoves - he raised to eliminate the flat callers and binked trip 7s mbn Two flat calls to me (playing £335 and i raise to £12 with Ahrt Th hijack calls Villain (Button) calls Flop (£40) Ts 2s 8h I lead for £26 hijack folds Villain raises to £60........... I think i agree he's probably not got a monster, his sizing doesn't seem like it. It's also quite hard to have a big hand on this board. Lots of combinations of draws. Call/lead blank turns? Title: Re: No snappy titles here Post by: SuuPRlim on July 28, 2011, 03:52:37 PM Call/lead blank turns? I'm in. be nice if it was 3h, that would be a great turn Title: Re: No snappy titles here Post by: david3103 on July 28, 2011, 04:21:46 PM I called - I took my time over it but I called. At least I have some supporters for having called, but i only really had a plan if the turn was a 10 or an A (check call), or a spade (check fold)
Turn was a blank - can't recall precisely what, but it wasn't a spade or a heart nor did it help on any straight draws. I checked. He paused, he always pauses before any bet, it's an irritating habit that a few of the kidz have got, I think it's supposed to make them look like Dwan, but whatever he paused then pushed all his chips over the line - £190 to call.......... Title: Re: No snappy titles here Post by: SuuPRlim on July 28, 2011, 04:29:04 PM meh. dont think either is a big mistake. might be closer to a fold I dont really know...

Title: Re: No snappy titles here Post by: The Squid on July 28, 2011, 04:37:48 PM How does he perceive you? Are you the sort of person that he thinks can fold an overpair in this spot? How often have you raised and iso'd limpers before?
If you play regularly with this guy you need to balance how often you call a flop raise and fold blank turns and how often you call. Obv if you never fold people will never semi-bluff draws on turn and you can be similarly exploited if you always fold. Hope this helps. In general I fold here most people don't like to shove combo draws on the turn, particularly when they have the option of taking a free card. Title: Re: No snappy titles here Post by: the sicilian on July 28, 2011, 04:40:13 PM Not much more than a pot bet and hard to put him on overs just flatting pre with multiple players..feels like his trying to push you off but very close.... always have the why would he bet so big if he had a big hand in the back of my mind..but i have often gone with the over bet with the nuts myself for this very reason..
its a tough call and gonna be very read/player dependent...his prob dropped a brutal 10 8 on you....... Can't see what else he could have.
