You have to remember the organisers use these as a money making scheme, so its in their interests to get as many people there by however means.

In fact they are an ingenius way to make money, as the narcissistic side of humans means they will always get a good turn out.

Whole thing is one big level

People nominated for best mixed game player that don't play mixed  games
People nominated for best cash player that don't play cash

And Flushy nominated for best online player hahahahaha. For those that don't know, James hasn't played a hand online in over 3 months:)

Yeah whole thing is a joke and should be taken with a pinch of salt.  Leaving out blonde is absurd, at worst it's the 2nd best poker forum in britain.  Leaving out all the cash game players from best online player pretty funny too

If there was ever a reason NOT to vote for someone this is surely it.
Anyone asking for people to vote for them and posting links on Facebook and twitter etc must be the most repulsive horrid creatures that exist

People should refuse to vote to end the ridiculousness that is poker awards.

LOL joke-a-ments

Best online player featuring 3/5 players who have played I would guess less than 30,000 hands between them this year (I mean JAKE CODY - really lol), best mixed game featuring 3 of the 5 players who prolly barely know the rules to Stud8 and Devilfish who spends his entire life drunk and sleazing on waitresses (not that I blame him) makes it into best PLO player yet Gavz wins $2million and does not.

Or as I should have just said. I;m with Dubai. Very silly and completely farcical. Poker awards should be re-named "Run good/come up on google acknowledgements"

Wow, imagine if someone won a social media award by posting about it on social media, that would be ridiculous.

Why the anti-poker award sentiments? Any opportunity for poker players to gain more exposure should be embraced. There is a lot of money in sponsorship deals etc. to be gained from actively promoting yourself. I'm sure 99% of poker players who do actively work to promote themselves, or even go so far as to get an agent, do it not for any kind of narcissistic reasons.

Yeah but I'd rather vote for someone who has gained recognition via being a top successful player than being a media whore, which I know in fairness to you, you have been good at.

This award for social media stuff is just total bollocks.

The social media stuff is beyond cringe. Being successful yet dreadful at your job must be an instant ego destroyer and surely doing self promotion with the sole intent to gain is massively narcissistic given it's purely selfish and egotistical

You live your life, il live mine. I'm not a puppet jumping to a worldwide corporations tune and I've no interest in self publicism

These particular poker awards IMO have zero credibility because *and no offence to anyone as a lot of very good friends/people I have a LOT of respect for are nominated* it is basically a group of already high profile guys, picked on the back of their reputations sharing nominations in catorgories that seem to be assigned completely at random.

whoever's in charge of this has no clue watsoever of whats been going on in UK poker last 12 months.
