Love this show . Happy James Caan has Fucked off.

He was never going to come back with DB not liking him for his Tax evasion and then offering some Pakistani flood victim $10000 for his kids.

Check out the new Dragon

No need to pass on your regards in this one M, apprentice thread is over.

I used to love dragons den, not so much any more but not sure why.

Wow. That's the best pic she could come up with from her site.

Is it on after Top Gear? Might give it a watch.

I got fed up with Dragon's Den. Got annoying watching first pitch be good, but not win. Then some crappy/funny ones. Then the actual decent one at the end which gets funding. Yawn.

C

I have a friend Sharon Wright who is in court v James caan. Turns out his offer to invest in a business is just a loan that you have to payback to him and his offers to help are complete bollocks. I went to school with Sharon and she is a diamond but I do worry about her mental state.

I'm scared. A trailer just came on before top gear. She seems lopsided.

Herbie, generally people do expect their investments to be paid back?

The new dragon would be interested in a breeding business for Dalmation puppies imo

At the moment yes but it does depend largely on the feed in tariff and to a certain extent interest rates.

There is also a limited market of people who can stump up the cash which is further limited by those who won't do it as they plan to move before profit.

If the feed in tariff stays it is a gold mine though despite the small market and that's without the Plumb Centre deal.

I've just read up on the case and feel a bit sorry for the lady in question, who actually looks like a nice bit of totty!

I NEVER liked this program, it's far too set up and the 'Dragons' are generally arseoles. Just one look at this Caan guy would put me off, he's nothing but a rich Chav and anyone getting involved with him deserves much of what they get, if they can't see past the cash then they have a bit more to learn about business!

She was seeing my best mate a few years back and she is lovely. School reunion in September but I speak to Sharon from time to time already so will be seeking out people I ain't seen for 25 years.

Hopo my understanding with the den is that in return for the investment the dragons aquire a %age of the business. Would many people want to give up the large %ages knOwing they were just getting a loan.

I felt  guilty at the time because I had advised Sharon on certain things and I remember her asking me over to watch the un edited version of the show and her time in the den was actually over an hour (in secret as she was not allowed to even show family). All 5 dragons wanted to invest which I believe was a first and she gave away exactly what she wanted to. (I had told her that every show I have ever seen the dragons will always ask for twice the %age you offer and a simple solution was to only offer half the equity you are willing to give away).

She has worked hard, shed many tears and gone from blonde to brunette ;). She now has written a book "the mother of invention" and is also working as a guest speaker at various business events.

Just watched it, new Dragon seems like a good addition. I actually really like all the Dragons other than Duncan, he often makes stupid impulsive temper tantrum decisions like he did with the solar panel bloke this week.

Duncan is funny. The deals he offers are sometimes mind-boggling and the solar panel guy was a prime example. Bannatyne offers £120k for 30% with a caveat the business makes the predicted £600k profit this year. So in other words he gives the guy the chance to pay him £60k this year and 30% of future millions with abs no risk to himself. Then he has a pop at the guy for not snap accepting. Bannatyne would sell that battered old van to his mother for £5k without blinking an eye.
