Title: PLO - Think I played this one wrong Post by: Rod on August 11, 2011, 09:36:34 AM I am pretty sure I play this hand very badly.
I 3-bet a raise in position with a pretty good hand. I get a call from the blinds and the OR calls as well. On the flop I have a flush draw and overpair but other than that the flop is fairly dry. The original raiser checks, the cold caller then bets out the entire pot (and has now put in more than half his stack, $8.54 with $6.35 behind so I assume he is not folding). It's me to act with a player behind me still to act. This is the first time I have seen the player make a strong bet like this (but he has only been here for about 20 hands). Am I basically priced in here. I folded as for some reason I felt he was very strong here and there was still another player to act. What is the right thing to do here, should I shove? My thinking is below and how much should I worry about the other player in the pot? If he has two pair I am basically flipping. If he has a set he is about a 2/1 favorite If he has a pair and the nut flush draw I am a slight dog If he has a pair and a worse flush draw then I am about a 2/1 favorite If he just has the nut flush draw then I am a slight favorite I am a decent favorite over a combo draw with worse flush draw Overall with the money that is already in the pot against one player I should probably be getting it in obviously he could have a monster (top set/top two and nut flush draw for example but I can't worry about that too much). Why are you not going to 3Bet pre?Title: Re: PLO - Think I played this one wrong Post by: pleno1 on August 11, 2011, 10:53:22 AM oh didnt see caller. i still think we play pretty well multiway and fold out alot (they are oop) when we raise (thius is ofc nto a bad thing) but we flop pretty well (maybe this is a reason to 3b)
Title: Re: PLO - Think I played this one wrong Post by: GreekStein on August 11, 2011, 11:15:48 AM On the flop we really have to get it in. Once the pot is 3b, his range to get it in really widens. He's doing it with most flush draws, 8910/910j etc qq with spades etc. Our hand is a favourite against his range and with the money already in the pot and our hand I'm not folding. (We also have some of his blockers a lot).
Title: Re: PLO - Think I played this one wrong Post by: SuuPRlim on August 11, 2011, 12:09:05 PM 3bet pre for sure, double paired hands have great preflop equity vs pretty much anything and play great with slightly shallower PSR
flop i'd flat flop/fold to other players jam, or jam if he's a bad player. We lose way to much equity to fold on this flop. I'd expect to see the NFD a high % of the time and having 2 7's in our hand is going to be useful vs mega draws. |
