Shoving seems like it could be slight spew to me. He won't call off 22 bigs with any range that has us in decent shape and i don't really feel like there's any strong reasoning for him to be light here too often.

Easy to think, i have two Tens and ~25BBs, i gta go all in. But he's a solid winning player, and his range opening that stack UTG is pretty narrow.

Me shoving over that is only going to get called by a range that crushes TT. Not to mention I have players behind me.

However... I got the TT with 25bbs, so I gta go allin.. right?

If you know the answer then perhaps don't pose the question and fold?

You don't mention your own image and stats in op?

I don't like shoving here but not for reasons stated, it's the nut worst line for me when I'm playing but can't comment on op without some insight

Is there an answer? I want peoples views. There can be more than 1 right play. my opinion of his opening/calling range may be wrong.

I mean you're probably flipping a lot of the time. Shove and embrace the variance

Oops forgot.. At the table I had been playing very tight. Not sure how i am perceived by villain. Most think LAG i guess.

Depends on how I think he views me- but generally for me 3b calling is better than shoving and I can/do have a 3b folding range here so I'm more balanced than most- same for calling pre- I call a wider range here than 95% of regs, whether this is good or bad is debatable but if for example I'd been flatting pre a load then I'd have a range where flatting TT here wouldn't be face up, and for sure I could have Aces,Kings in same spot-

Before anyone does the maths and says shoving is not exploitable I'd add that's because we have been dealt a premium with a shallow stack and a raise in front- +ev doesn't mean the same as non exploitable

he's defo opening wider than you think mate. All depends on his perception of you, 3b/call jam, induce jam from behind by peeling (if you have a peel range established) can all be argued depending on images

Most of the time in auto-pilot i'm 3bet/calling or shoving, depending on my image/metagame.

This time he had been playing tight, and I felt i'd find a better place to pile someone, or get it in good, and folded (such a nit i know).

What you saying bout 88/99?

hate the fold. im 3b/c or jamming 99 also 88 is a real decision

Very wrong.

Shove.

I would like to add that I agree with saying that it's best to do what's consistent with your perceived image and balancing in these tournaments. I always shove here because I'm pretty sure most regs won't think that I have a 3bet fold range since I balance by just reshoving 14-25bbs with a pretty balanced range in these reggier tourneys. But if you have a 3bet/fold range then you should definitely 3bet/call.

Its not a spot i often (ever) fold in, I just (cue excuses) had no timebank because by computers been a c*nt lately, seen he had been super tight, and just had a gut feeling. I know shoving or 3b/calling is the right play, and thats why i posted it to see which of these people take.

Sometimes i go with my gut, and often it's right. I know I shouldn't be folding here vs most opponents.

Just remember next time i 3bet you with 20 bb's my range is JJ+ and AK yea?
