Title: KK SB vs BB
Post by: Doobs on August 20, 2011, 09:27:57 PM
This was the last hand of the day in the GUKPT Luton.

Blinds are 400/800, I think ante is 100, but may be 75.

Everybody is ready to go home so it folds round to me on the small blind.  I look down and see  Kh Ks

I have just shy of 60k, big blind is Paul Zimbler.  I have played at his table once before at GUKPT London.  He was very active at that table after I made a big lay down after he limp reraised UTG.  I was kicking myself at the time, but a couple of months later I read his blog, and he was saying how he had been dealt a load of monsters on day 1.

He has been at the table for an hour and has reraised me twice, he'd struggle to be behind in either to be fair.

I raise to 2400, he calls.  Pot is 5600.  He has just over 30k back.  Not sure on an exact number as he had an absolute ton of 25s (he has been collecting, so this doesn't mean he has been active)

Flop is a nasty looking  7s 6h 5h

I lead out for 3200 or so, he makes it 5k more, leaving just over 20k behind.

I think FML, is this a standard shove regardless?

I must've missed something.

Aren't we supposed to mock people who limp rereaise utg?

Have I missed the thread where we decided this was now good?

Don't know why mr martin dsnt cb here. I donk get it in wiiiiiii.

Simples surely?

Last hand dynamic v important here, and he's mr zimbler who will try and exploit any little edge he believes he has in any situation.

Guess cr is fine too, i just hate life when he taps behind and sick turns give our lives painnnnnnn.

Just fist pump jam and gg if behind.

Yeah agree with OP that I shove here but obv am not overjoyed with the situation. Think what Alex is alluding to is that this line makes it difficult for our opponent to play badly, but personally I doubt this opponent is going to be duped into any massive spews when we check. Checking also protects our giving up range as this flop is really disgusting for a hand like KQo, by having strong hands in our checking range this gets us free cards with our 6 outers like this that we won't be cbetting, but personally I think in this situation last hand of the day I probably just exploitably cbet my entire range anyway and hope the other guy decides to take the stress free way out and bag up his chips for tomorrow, so am fistpump shoving hands as big as KK.

I did shove, and he had 76 off, and I luckboxed a king on the river.

I did think about checking, but didn't really want to check call off all my chips, and check raising felt a bit spewy.

I think if he'd been a bit younger I'd have insta jammed, if he was a bit older, I'd have got much closer to folding.  I came pretty close, and had a real bad feeling, but then told myself it was blind v blind ffs.

I'd be interested to know why we would click raise, do people really 5 bet spew here vs live old fellas like me, and isn't there a danger of pricing him in if he has one of the many draws?  I assume we are calling off all his shoves here?

I think I always just jam and think nothing of it on the internet
