Post by: Dubai on August 24, 2011, 01:24:47 PM
Anyone been hunting in the uk before? Am thinking more along the lines of wilderness rather than pheasant shooting from 10yards etc

A good family friend of mine teaches deer stalking in Scotland

you need to pass exams pre visit, then the sceond part of your qualifications is the "stalk"

I can pass details if you are interested. Its at Loch Doon (SW scotland), they put people up in their home during the practical as its in the middle of the countryside.

Depends what you want to shoot really.

As an abs min, you need land owners permission and they would want to know your experience.

Tbh you wouldn't get near a deer without training.

I'm sure that you could get some hunting done somewhere thou

Isn't there some daft law that means it's legal to kill a scotsman in york if he's carrying a bow and arrow?

In Whip ma Whop ma Gate in York think there is a law where you can still tie your missus up and giver her a good whipping.

If you want some good old fashioned hunting get over to Riga! They have excursion type things set up with no legalities like over here.

It has to be within the walls of the city, and it has to be a longbow, not a crossbow, and it also only applies after sunset.

According to the myth anyway.

Could you find out please.  As a Welshman living in Chester its pretty key I found out all stipulations.
