Title: Mo Farah
Post by: Dubai on August 28, 2011, 11:23:40 AM
Stays a marathon with finishing kick of 3000m runner- main rival not run for 2 years and rumours were going round about him withdrawing this morning- admittedly he is top class but 3 time world champs don't take year+ off when they are in shape

Farah wins

Oh Bekele never lost over 10000m but I've still lumped on the 4-5 Farah

4/6 worth taking?
4/7 too short?

1-2 with me, Bekele needs to lose Farah before last lap, dunno how he can do it without being in top shape?

Bekele pulls out when beaten.

Started sprinting from about 650 out and couldn't keep it up for the last 100. Was so comfortable. If he waited he'd have won.

Did Paddy refund bets on Bolt?

Bolt bet was a joke, although 1-10 looked fair I didn't play lol

Farah was 5-2 for 5000m with hills- no idea if they laid any of it but can't see it now

Had £40 on Robles @ 6/4 and Robles in a £20 double with Jeter also @ 6/4 with Bluesq

My account showed just over £250 profit after they both won then half hour after Robles crossed the line they wiped out the winnings sayin they'd paid me by mistake. My mate had backed the initial silver medalist with Will Hill but they didn't pay him. He rang Hills and they gave him a £25 free bet, I rang Bluesq and they said they'd paid me by mistake and the fact I hadn't pulled the money out straight away was no reason why they should give me a free bet as a sign of good faith and wanting to keep my custom.

Bit of a joke really, not asking to be paid first past the post as that's not their policy but to not even match the Hills customer service after having shown the money in my account is bad form if u ask me.

Well after speaking to a manager and getting a bit of a cheeky/sarcastic response I've decided not to bet with them again! I'm only small fry in terms of sports betting (few hundred wagered over course of this championships) so they can get away with treating me in shoddy fashion. Still can't believe they put money into my account then took it back out and didn't seem to acknowledge how far a small good will gesture would have gone. Instead of slating them off to mates, I'd have said they'd atleast valued my custom after making an unfortunate error.

On the upside, the bet I had straight after on Hills is lookin ok so far.

gl anyone else who's tryin to squeeze out a profit on the Daegu action.

Standard response for this sort of thing.  Doubt it cost much as odds pretty prohibitive for most.

Yeah, they probably only laid something like £500 to win £50. (In loads of £20 bets as they won't lay it for real money ;) ) They could have advertised it before the athletics though "If Bolt doesn't win you get your money back" as this was the only way Bolt wasn't going to piss in. (unless he got injured)

Not at those odds for me, but he's a competitor who performs well on the big stage rather than choking like others do - so definitely in with a shout.

Nailed on medal contender who qual'd in the second fastest time whilst easing up and getting his stride pattern all wrong between the last two hurdles. So its a yes from me, which usually means swerve at all costs!

I thought he looked strongest qualifier- athletics one of few sports where I feel Brits underrated in markets still

I have just cheered as loud as any sporting event with that performance from Hannah England. Class name and what a run!!

Pace of race helped her, not being negative but if she had run a mote confident race and gave herself a chance she might have won

50-1 beats 50-1, big forecast

Defo agree Culson was first to move! Greene ran not so green in the first 300m and thats what won it for him. Wiiii

17.77 and 2nd-would have taken 1-20 that would have been enough

365's PR guy just tweeted 5/6 each of two Farrah to win a gold in London.  Not one for ante post bettiing of this klind at all but if it started tomorrow I would be closer to 1/2 yes 2/1 no to 100%...take into accoutn injuries and maybe 8/13 13/8 but still seems fair.

Title: Re: Mo Farah
Post by: Dubai on September 04, 2011, 01:22:29 PM

Mo was brilliant. Gutsy run, and tactics spot on.

For the Olympics the big question is whether or not Bekele will be fit and back anywhere near his best in time. If he is, he's unbeatable. But if he's not quite back it'll give Mo and others the chance to go for gold.
