Title: SKY POKER turn spot. raise or call
Post by: cambridgealex on September 01, 2011, 03:05:37 PM
First session, no reads. 100nl 6max cash.

Villain limps utg for £1 playing £70, I iso utg+1 to £4 with  Kd Jc, folds round, villain calls.

(9.50)  Jh Qh 4d

check, I bet £5, he calls.

(19.5)  Qc

He leads for £7, raise here ok? or calling better? how do you like the iso pre from this position?

Have just started playing cash online for the first time in years so not really sure how people play anymore. Think people on this site are fairly nitty/fishy?

Iso pre fine/standard. I would call now, not really sure what raising achieves

min raise turn for value/free shodown, if he 3bets he always has a queen and we save money on river, he always calls withd raws and he rarely, c/c l/c/ l

Call turn, pot river if he checks and do a 'pretend' flush draw miss so he pays you the dimes with JT.

I like this play if were a bit deeper, but think hes more likely to just eye ball a FD when he doesnt have so much back...

I'd make it like 25 to go and fold to a raise. I also behind the river if he calls

Iso pre is mandatory, check back the flop imo. As played, call, call would be my standard, depending on rivers+timing tells, but I sort of like pleno's thinking, don't think I give the guy a free showdown if he flats the raise tho.

Agree with adjustment on Plenos idea

Dont like checking back this flop.

Surely this is the time to get him to put some money with loads of his straight draws, worse jacks, any other crap hes got.

If he calls we can check back the turn if we want, and then snap off when he bets/ bluffs on most rivers.

Dont know how much we need to balance is these games?

His draws aren't in that bad shape on the flop, pretty sure he leads them on the turn if we check back, and is more likely to bluff river if he has the lead in the hand imo.

So basically I think we're more likely to get 2 streets by checking back and we get better equity on the money that goes in. It's not for balance.

chk flop bet turn bet river, or call turn call/fold river depending on all the things like how much he bets how fast he bets and what cards come on the turn and river.

I think in general on the flop you get more value vs his draws by chking back and letting him semi-bluff them + we might struggle to 3street here in nitty-ish games but could see someone value owning himself with slightly worse

as played OTT i think we can be fairly sure we're against a Q or a semi-bluff of some sort and theoretically he's gonna have a semi-bluff more often than a queen so can see a bit of merit in raising, but readless I think i'd prolly just play it safe and call/call or call/fold depending on how I felt OTR

Do people really lead a Q here? I thought he was unlikely to so I decided to raise. But the time bank was running out ashjdfjkdfiedfw so I just called and he c/folded a brick river.

miss value calling turn imo
