Title: Just how badly did I play this hand? Post by: zerofive on September 02, 2011, 07:05:52 AM I took some abuse for this one. It's not great, but I don't know if it's as terrible as it was made out to be. Maybe you can confirm how bad it was.
Playing 50p/£1 live game with a couple of regs. We're six handed and effective stacks are £500~ versus button, £270~ versus cutoff. Both villains are quite aggro, but villain on the button is clearly comfortable playing in this game whereas I'm under the impression the cutoff is playing with a significant portion of his roll. I raise Ahrt Qh to £4 utg. Cutoff makes it £14, button 4bets to £42. Neither player has to have a hand here. I call the £42 with the intention of getting it in versus the 3bettor in the cutoff if he 5bets. He calls behind. Flop is Th 9c 4d. Checked round. The turn is the 8h giving me a gutshot nut flush draw. I check, cutoff bets £80, button calls pretty quickly. I call (didn't feel like I had a lot of fold equity, also didn't like the idea of passing this hand.) River is Jh and I give it 10 seconds or so before I check. It felt like the button was calling to take it away on the river, but wasn't sure how he would respond to my overcall. In hindsight, I definitely prefer betting, but how much? What do we think ranges are here? Sorry if this makes no sense, I'm literally falling asleep as i write this. Title: Re: Just how badly did I play this hand? Post by: pleno1 on September 02, 2011, 09:32:21 AM I FOLD PRE TO A COLD 4BET IN a live cash game (sorry for caps cba undoing now :D) if they are cpaable of cold 4betting utg vs c/o vs btn then i'd find another 100nl game to be in I think.
As played I bet about 2/7 of the pot Title: Re: Just how badly did I play this hand? Post by: boldie on September 02, 2011, 09:35:13 AM Don't really like calling the 4 bet pre, TBH.
Turn, yeah OK...odds probably aren't there for you to call but I regularly make it as well...I just never hit on the river :) the issue is to get paid on the river when you do hit. I bet the river 100% of the time to get a bit of value from whomever wants to call. I think, especially live, someone will always think that the flush is now out and they check down their Q straight rather than bet for value. Title: Re: Just how badly did I play this hand? Post by: SuuPRlim on September 02, 2011, 11:56:32 AM I would wager all my chips. (which is about the pot yeah?)
all of it kinda sucks tbh Title: Re: Just how badly did I play this hand? Indeed. They don't like folding though so in it goes on the river. Title: Re: Just how badly did I play this hand? Post by: zerofive on September 02, 2011, 01:03:44 PM I would wager all my chips.
