Title: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: Pinchop73 on September 04, 2011, 05:05:56 AM £0.5/1 cash game at DTD. I've only been sat down about half an hour. I've been involved in most pots, my image would be described as pretty crazy I guess.
Especially to one villain, who folded with £40 behind in a £60 pot after I donk shoved the river. He was pretty pissed when I showed him air after most of the table demanded to see what I had. Villain tilt reloads to the full £200. Also got called after leading the river when the flush draw landed after check calling a bet on the turn, so now down to about £180. The hand. Guy raises to £6 from ep. Two calls, I call with 7h 9c. Sb completes, as does villain who is still visibly tilted, keeps staring me down. Yep, I'm still here bud. Flop (£30) Qs 6d Tc Checks all round. Turn (£30) 6h I bet £17 Folds to Villain, calls. River (£64) 8s I bet £33 in a splashy manner. Villain tanks, keeps staring at me, then raises to £75. Hero? reps no hand, can't have QQ/TT so its basically 66/88/68 are these small bets your stnd? I really dont like them for live poker Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: cambridgealex on September 04, 2011, 03:04:32 PM Er fold pre?

What small bets Dave? 50-60% pot? just noticed a trend in all the threads of these very small bets all the time, like 30-60% of the pot. prefer to bet bigger with good hands in a live environment where balance doesn't really matter Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: Pinchop73 on September 05, 2011, 01:28:03 AM Yeah tbf Dave is right that I do bet small a lot of the time, just my mistake in not working out what's in the pot. Made sure all my bets were the correct size tonight though so thanks for that lildave.
Also George shows up and shows me exactly why he's significantly better than me. Not because he outnumbers my tv appearances by a decent margin, but he can soul read villain from a great distance! :p I insta shoved on him, to be insta called by Q6. The old adage of when they raise the river they ALWAYS have it rings true once more... Edit: just realised I missclicked the hand he showdown, he did have just the fh. Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: GreekStein on September 05, 2011, 01:42:25 AM weird. I might just call.
Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: cambridgealex on September 05, 2011, 01:43:40 AM stop insta-doing things imo.
take a at least a few seconds over every decision, even the ones when you know what you're doing. It's obviously a smart thing to do as well as good for balance when you ARE in a pickle. Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: cambridgealex on September 05, 2011, 01:45:42 AM all you can eaaatttttttttttttttttttt reps no hand, can't have QQ/TT so its basically 66/88/68 are these small bets your stnd? I really dont like them for live poker Dave why are you shoving here. A live guy is raising a river bet on a paired board and we have a straight. If he's not bluffing he won't call with worse and if he is bluffing he won't call anyway. Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: Pinchop73 on September 05, 2011, 02:02:13 AM stop insta-doing things imo. Sooooo much this. Stupid thing is, this is exactly what I told myself before walking in. A good friend whom I discuss stuff with texted me before hand with this exact advice. It's just that, well, I get a bit excited when I hit my bingo card! Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: SuuPRlim on September 05, 2011, 10:39:13 AM I've been involved in most pots, my image would be described as pretty crazy I guess. Yep, I'm still here bud. yh i get what you mean Alex, I just wouldn't be able to look past these bolded parts + he cant have QQ, unlikely to have TT or T6 might re-raise the turn some % with Q6, only one combo of 66 and I spose 88 and 86 are possible but 76/56/69s/64/A6 are all hands i think he'll level himself into calling with here cos of our image. for sure if I had no history i think i'd just call cos these random river donks are usually big hands that have "slowplayed" and now worry that the river will chk back. and yh Alex is absolutely right, take a few seconds before everything, just to make sure you haven't mis-read anything if nothing else. Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: SuuPRlim on September 05, 2011, 10:43:21 AM I've misread the hand history.
on reflection I think i prefer calling (not being results orientated) although because of your image shoving can't be bad. Title: Re: Rivered straight @ DTD £0.5/1 Post by: pleno1 on September 05, 2011, 11:21:18 AM its reallly close, my first instinct was to call, but now i think i prefer a jam.
