Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: tikay on February 24, 2005, 01:00:43 PM Congrats Mel - delighted for you!
Methinks I had better have a bash at qualifying on Stars. I have about 110,000 FPP Points, so maybe they do a FPP Qualifuier that I could have a bash in. It would be wonderful to get to Monte Carlo & hook up with you guys (& gals) again, so I had better see what I can do! Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: jbsc7769 on February 25, 2005, 03:51:16 AM 110,000 FPP points, wow, i thought i was doing ok when i got to 20,000! The good thing is that the store now has some half decent clothes in there and about 10 new books.
I think it is about time that they let you use FPP points to buy directly into tourney's now. Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: Ruru on February 25, 2005, 12:45:38 PM don't want to be accused of spam but there are two seats gtd on betfair and they were short of covering the pool for the first two seats - probably the best value available if you're going to try. the camel almost won through on Tuesday
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: tikay on February 25, 2005, 12:54:05 PM Thanks ruru, may give that a try.
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: ariston on February 26, 2005, 12:53:06 AM Will vouch for the value, I finished 12th and keith got 4th. Hope to see some of you in there this week (especially Tikay). Think they are running 2 sats this week and there is no way they will have enough players to cover the package costs.
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: tikay on February 26, 2005, 02:52:18 AM And when are these sats Russ?
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: ariston on February 26, 2005, 08:42:59 AM Think there are 2 next weekend (sunday?). One is BF only the other one is for all crypto sites. Not sure of exact day/time but have keep your eye on it. A festival without a thew top 3 finish? where can I get money on him for the main event??
ariston Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: tikay on February 26, 2005, 01:08:10 PM But what price tikay being deep-stacked at some stage, eh Russ?
And for those that were not there, they had a rule in the Main Event at Deauville that when you moved tables, you were not allowed - on pain of disqualification - to carry your chips in your hand, you HAD to use a chip tray. So I had the embarrassment of putting all my chips - that's BOTH of 'em - in this bloody great tray, walking to my new table, & putting this almost empty tray on the table. And at that precise moment, Bob Coombes arrived at the new table as well - he had 4 (FOUR) chip trays brim full. So he had more chip TRAYS than I had CHIPS.....Jeez, this game can humble you, eh? Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: Ruru on February 28, 2005, 04:20:48 PM The Betfair satellite has two gtd seats at 6pm on sunday the 6th. cryptologic have another one at 9pm but there are no guaranteed seats. betfair will only get about 35 of the 56 players they need to cover the two seats. i might see you in the 25 mtt sats some night this week
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: RobS on March 01, 2005, 10:30:10 AM The first Monte Carlo satellite last week Betfair got 47 of the 56 runners they needed to cover the guarantee. No doubt this number would have been significantly lower if it hadn't been mentioned on another forum and blog. I would expect a similar number on Sunday.
Rob Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: Milkybarkid on March 01, 2005, 09:12:14 PM Who was it that mentioned it on their blog? :o
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: RobS on March 02, 2005, 10:07:28 AM Oh, I forget now. Hopefully it won't happen again though!! ;)
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Post by: Ruru on March 02, 2005, 10:12:07 AM Haha, incredible that a poker player should try to be helpful - don't they know that all poker players should be mean, surly and full of spite???
