Title: Calling final table shoves - line check Post by: OverTheBorder on September 09, 2011, 07:21:04 PM Right, been finalling quite a bit but struggling to convert so looking to work on plugging some leaks!
Scenario, final table of 6 max comp, all paid, still 6 handed, this is a live tournament, new to casino so no blatant reads as only played everyone one night only. Chip Stacks: Seat 1: 160k Villain: 18k Hero: 106k Seat 4: 135k Seat 5: 100k Seat 6: 35k Blinds: 2k and 4k no ante Villain seems reasonable but has been crippled first hand of final table Pair over Paid pre and this is the very next hand. Very next hand its checked round and he shoves SB into my BB. Therefore a further 14k for me to call. Obvious first inpressions are he shoves any two here, and its tilt but wonder the following: Questions: Is this a call any two scenario or do we work with ranges? If you think call any two, where do you set the line where you have a calling range....i.e. 20k, 25k etc If you dont call any two and would be looking at ranges, whats the range? Basic I know but I think I may be setting my insta call bar too high and appreciate thoughts....flame away! If he had <14k then i'd go with it but here you should be calling like 60%-70% of hands.
