For those that dont know me, I have been running a diary on here in "The Rail" whereby i talked about my general degeneracy in my 20's to 30's I have now calmed down a bit but to keep up my readership set a challenge for some followers and others who wish to do their own thing to see if its possible to get approx 25 winning  bets or lays at approx odds of 1.4 decimal (2/5) please find the link below as to the relevant page

It was the fella who lost on his 20th odd bet when having started at £8k had a massive chunk on Djokovic to beat Federrer in the french open semi final, now i am not going to have 1 bullet but starting at £40 have given myself 100 goes at this and only have a couple of caveats as per the thread.  People have asked me to open up a new topic so others can post how they are doing so here it is!!

Is it possible??  I dont know but we will have a great sweat trying  obiously the early stages will be boring till about bet 9-10, If anyone does wish to try it please post screen shots or betting slips and some are doing $4 to £10k which is cool.

Yeah points / podium finishes are effectively whether or not they're going to complete the race a lot of the time. Easy money but when you need 10 wins on the bounce there's always that slip up to scupper things.

Seriously thinking about it though mate although as I said I'm clueless with betfair which could be a disadvantage.

Would probs do something less adventurous than a 1000x effort.

most of my bets are tennis, cricket, rugby and other random bets that crop up.

Its weird that when you get to say a hundo, those bets are much more tense than having a straight hundo on something as the prospect of starting again is so gash. We also take the stake out for the next one if we get to over a ton.

gl with this hope you win the lot but this type of thing is a layers dream. Each attempt at the spin up is one very large accumulator, spreading it over a long period doesn´t mean it´s a series of large singles. If you are reinvesting 100% after each win then it is in every way an accumulator. It´s why Hills were so keen to publicise it.

I´m certain it can be done but it is only very slightly more likely than just getting any standard 25 fold acca up. It being more likely assumes that by spreading the bet over a period of time you are giving yourself the maximum scope for identifying true value (i.e you are unlikely to ever find 25 bets that represent real value on any given weekend). I hope it goes well but if I was a little wealthier and lot less of a bankroll nit I´d be delighted to lay all of these.

i leave footbal out of the bets. If there is one sport where supremacy in ability can be negated by a lot of factors footy is it.

I assume its best to use betfair cos once u get to a certain bet size normal bookies won't accept the bet?

Well if you approached them and told them you will be placing every bet with you they would probs say yeah as they wont think you can do it and then if you do they will use it for publicity and get the money back from others trying.

Betfair means as long as there is enough liquidity in the market you can get on without a problem but in the later stages it will probs need to be a televised event to find enough liquidity out there.

I would start off and keep reinvesting then when you get to a grand if your going to carry on let them know. If your doing it online they will see the traffic on your account or get Tikay to find out who you can spk to first.

you need to host the picture somewhere, photobucket or something and then get the URL. Click the image button on the menu - 2 to right of the youtube button. Stick the URL between the 2 image tags, hey presto.

Yeah I can see why you'd go against Avon TBH, his price is fairly short. I have been looking out for him for a while though and Hughesie mentioned him in the RP a while ago, think it was Saturday 2 weeks ago but not 100% sure, as the one horse to follow in the Hannon yard.

I'm fed up of pissing money away for small gains trying whilst trying to build some money in my Betfair account, only to lose it a few bets down the line.  Been following the thread since it started but now I'm in too.   I'm only small stakes and will start with a tenner.  I know I'll bottle it if I put a few winners together so will probably take some money back at some point.  I really am small stakes though so it could be sooner rather than later!

Bet 1, £10 on England to beat Montenegro @ 1.75.  Decent price I thought. Montenegro have been piss poor and are flattered to be doing so well in the group, mainly because of the other poor sides we have.   I don't know how to price up things like most in here but I expected the AH -1 goal to be about this price before I looked so thought I'd take the straight win.

I think it might be a good idea to bet the unders/overs on the football.  I prefer that to the both teams to score type bets.  

I like for tonight overs in games involving Celtic 11/10, Austria Vienna 8/11 and Lazio 8/11.  There is a chance I am giving up some value on the bets but I also benefit from a %kickback from my bookmaker on losing bets.

Yes. try to hit ten or twelve and then start again I know you started it as a challenge to see if you could hit 20k from 40 quid but if you ran it to ten winners you would have a nice pot there. If you ran it to 25 selection I think your selection process would suffer the further you got as from the original 40 quid you would now be having a lot of money on each time. Your pot would be 2300 ish if you were betting around 1/2 , your pot would be around 5100 after 12 selections.

I know they are not exactly the prices you set out in your original opening post, I just used em as it was easier to calculate in mi head. ;o)

I think you would find it difficult to get to 25 winners, maybe around 12 at 1/2 or around that mark to win 5k ish would be gettable.

What sports/events would you concentrate on?

I think someone suggested leaving football matched alone, or at least not primarily betting 90 minute win bets in football matches. I would look to be laying teams in 90 minutes matches tho if that's an area you feel you have the most knowledge in.

I would be trying to concentrate on 2 runner events with no tie. So over and unders in footy, rugby seems ok, tennis matches, darts, that kind of thing.

One thing that might be ok but might have left it a little late now is betting under 3 1/2 goals in some Scottish Premier league games when the weather is bad, it is a league of few goals when you take out Rangers and Celtic games and you can have games between two pretty average teams playing in wind and rain if you pick your spots. Under 2 1/2 would be ok too but under 3 1/2 will be around but mainly a little under your price range of 2/5.

One important thing tho is not to approach each day as a 'must find a selection here to keep my run going kind of thing' if you don't fancy much for a couple of days it won't matter. Be selective not aggressive.

Probably a fair price, only first to 4 these matches though so a bit volatile.  Mark Davis only scored 9 points in his match v Ding, potting 4 balls.

Ronnie clearly has decent form coming in but Fu has got some decent form not that long ago. Fu is notoriously shit in short format matches, a bit nervy.
