Title: £1-2 top pair, weird spot
Post by: muckthenuts on September 27, 2011, 08:53:49 AM
Villian seems fishy ish but a solid, non gambly type of guy and is wearing a pokerstars jacket. Doing some limping but not calling raises generally.
I've been noticeably aggro raising a fair amounts of pots pre on a table of limp/call happy players.

Eff stacks ~£210

I hold  Ad Ts

Few limps to me i make it £15 in the co. Villian calls otb, as do 2 others.

Flop  Ahrt 6c 4s

two checks and i bet £40. Villian snap raises to £95 and it folds back round.

What's he repping? What do we do?

Depends what we think he thinks of us. If he thinks we're opening light pre, he might not be inclined to 3bet AJ+, but conversely if our line is frequently as aggro as our image, then his value hands would surely let us bet/bet/bet on this board. Snap raise is usually premeditated so might just be taking a stand. Of course I've been wrong before.

This deep, I probably call and check/call turn.

from general description you're prolly gonna get shown a set here quite a bit (A4/A6s i spose also) but you're absolutely right that he isn't repping much of a value range at all - can prolly assume A4 is the worst hand he value raises, and 75 is the only semi-bluff but doesn't seem a great spot to semi-bluff cos he can't really rep anything

wouldn't blame you for peeling but folding is FTW here imo

small raise, i think we can see like aj/aq here sometimes too.
