Title: Blondite on the Blind
Post by: thetank on January 06, 2006, 06:06:32 AM
£20 buy-in cash game at Cincinnatis that I dealt tonight, Timaloy (I think that's his blonde name) was on the small blind. We were 5 handed, blinds of £1 and £1. Nimaloy was the only player at the table, The other guys were either not very good, or weren't playing very well.

The action pre-flop went like this....

Blondite on the Small Blind (BOTB) posts £1
Big Blind posts £1
UTG folds
Cut off raises to £5, (recently announced that he was leaving in half an hour, he is up a healthy amount thus far)
Button flat calls £5 (very loose player)
BOTB has  8d 6d and flat calls the £4
Big Blind calls £4 (short stacked, a bit tilty perhaps)

Floppity flop comes down  Kd 9d 3d

BOTB bets out £10
Big blind goes all-in £10 with £22 more
Cut-off flat calls £32
Button calls all-in with his last £25

It's £22 to BOTB, He has £205 left, Cut-off has him covered with £350+.

What would you if you were that blondite?

(More to follow)

Tell him not to bet out of turn....gives his hand away.

Flat call and pray for a brick, then lead for £50, and pass to a re-raise.

BOTB opted to re-raise another £50, the Cut-off flat called.

Turn card was a check-book and pen, the 5s.

Board is now  Kd 9d 3d 5s

BOTB holds  8d 6d

First to act on the turn with £133 left. What's the move?

Well, I doubt he's going to fold either the full house or flush draw, so you might as well check and see what happens. IMO

BOTB pondered for what seemed like 2 minutes then checked.
The cut-off moved all-in with a mixture of cash and chips.
BOTB shook his head and said something long the lines of,
"I asked a question and got an answer.......but I'm not going to listen to myself, I call."

The cut off showed  Qd Qh (how badly did he play these on the flop!)
Big blind flipped over a  Kc, Tc for top pair, drawing dead.
Button had Td 4d for a ten high flush, in the lead for the £120 main pot.

The conclusion of a pot worth 522 big blinds gets everyone interested, I seem to remember most players at the table standing up.
Dead for the £120 main pot but very much into the side pot of £402 BOTB looked very concerned as to whether the river was going to bring him either a big stack of cash, or a long boring story. Only a diamond could lose it for him, 5 of them were live. The dealer fiddled with side pots and made change for about a minute, torturing BOTB before finally dealing the river card.....

I can't remember exactly what card did hit the felt on the river........but it sure as hell wasn't a diamond.
Qd Qh  had announced his attention to leave soon. After losing this pot he stayed and played on instead funnily enough :D
