Title: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 06, 2011, 03:39:50 PM the highly anticipated World Series of Poker Europe festival pulls into the Casino Barrière de Cannes Croisette for its French debut tomorrow.
This is the first time that the WSOPE has been held outside of London and with the move comes a few changes. The hop across the English Channel ensures a currency change from sterling to euro, the festival itself was moved forward from September to October, and it is said the new facility will allow for double the capacity with a planned 75 concurrent poker tables. Most importantly, the number of bracelet events has increased from five to seven plus there will also be two non-bracelet events; the €550 buy-in ladies event and the Caesars Cup. Here is the WSOP Europe 2011 schedule: Event #1 Friday, Oct 7: six-handed no-limit hold’em (three days) — €2,680 buy-in Event #2 Saturday Oct 8: no-limit hold’em (five days) — €1,090 buy-in Event #3 Monday Oct 10: pot-limit Omaha (three days) — €5,300 buy-in Event #4 Tuesday Oct 11: no-limit hold’em shootout (three days) — €3,200 buy-in (new) Event #5 Wednesday Oct 12: no-limit hold’em split format (four days) — €10,400 buy-in Event #6 Thursday Oct 13: six-handed pot-limit Omaha (three days) — €1,620 buy-in Event #7 Saturday Oct 15: WSOPE main event championship (five days) — €10,400 buy-in Saturday Oct 15: no-limit hold’em ladies event (non-bracelet, one day) — €550 buy-in Wednesday Oct 19: Caesars Cup (non-bracelet, team event, one day) — Freeroll As seen above, a €1,620 buy-in three-day six-handed pot-limit Omaha event and a €3,200 buy-in three-day no-limit hold’em shootout have been added to this year’s schedule. The £10,350 High Roller heads-up event from last year has become a €10,400 buy-in no-limit hold’em split format. The four-day event will start off nine-handed, change to sixhanded on the second day, and on days three and four players will go heads up. The €10,400 buy-in main event kicks off on Oct. 15 and runs for five days (it ran for six last year). James Bord became the 2010 champion after he beat 346 players in London for the first-place prize of £830,401. In 2009, Barry Shulman took home the title after beating Daniel Negreanu in a dramatic heads up for the £801,603 top prize. Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 09, 2011, 01:16:56 PM Event #1: €2,680 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em — Guillaume Humbert Holds Chip Lead Moving into Final Day
Day 2 of Event #1, the €2,500 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em, began with a change of venue. Instead of playing at the Hotel Majestic Barriere, players were moved across the road to the Le Croisette Casino Barriere for the first time. Luckily, the change of venue did not affect the action and railbirds and media members alike were once again treated to a scintillating display of poker. Eighty players began the day with a plan to play either ten levels, or get down to the final table of six. When the day ended, the ten levels had won that particular race and 12 players remained. At the head of the pack was online player Guillaume Humbert, bagging 541,000 chips. The young Swiss player, who is playing in his first major live tournament, had his major break through after eliminating the Day 1 chip leader Flavien Guenan. Then as the end of the day neared, he also eliminated Johan Sundell and moved over the half million mark for the first time. If Humbert looks over his shoulder he will see a man desperate for not only a WSOPE bracelet but the Player of the Year award as well. Phil Hellmuth was back to his old tricks on Saturday, and a great final level took him over the 400,000 mark, finishing in second place on the chip leaderboard. Other notable players left in the field are David Benyamine (253,000), Anton Wigg (201,000) and Casey Kastle (119,000). The final day will resume at 1500 CET (0600 PDT) with plenty of deep-stacked 6-max poker action.. Event #2: €1,090 No-Limit Hold'em — Hinrichsen Leads Day 1a Field Day 1a of Event #2 at the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe wrapped up on Saturday. The €1,090 No-Limit Hold'em event attracted 381 players for its first starting flight and is on pace to smash the record for the largest WSOP Europe event — 608 entries. There are 54 players remaining and Australian Andrew Hinrichsen is leading the way with 63,900 in chips. Hinrichsen was a permanent fixture at the top of the counts all day long. In one of his bigger hands he played towards the end of the night, Hinrichsen bet 8,500 on the board of . His opponent tanked and went back and forth for a little bit. Then finally, the player raised all-in for 13,075. Hinrichsen called and his opponent showed for a pair of jacks. Hinrichsen tabled the for two pair and won the pot. Plenty of notable players were in the mix on Saturday, but not all of them could advance to Day 2. Mike Leah, Jean-Robert Bellande, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Phil Collins, Jason Mercier, Erik Seidel, Barry Greenstein and Nacho Barbero were a handful of names to hit the rail on the day. Among those moving on to the second day of play are, Toby Lewis, Randy Dorfman, McLean Karr, Farzad Bonyadi, Richard Toth, Erik Cajelais, Eoghan O'Dea, Matt Waxman and Dan Shak. They'll all be part of the group that joins up with the remaining players from Day 1b to continue play on Day 2. Day 2 will begin on Monday at 1400 CET (0500 PDT). Action for Sunday's Day 1b flight kicks off at 1200 CET (0300 PDT) with nine levels of play on the schedule Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: Eck on October 09, 2011, 02:22:24 PM Live feed

Over the past two days, the second event of the WSOPE in Cannes – a €1,090 NL affair – attracted 771 players over the course of two opening flights, smashing the previous record.
Just 104 players survived Day 1a or Day 1b, among them Toby Lewis, Randy Dorfman, Erik Cajelais, Eoghan O’Dea, Matthew Waxman, Peter Jetten, John Eames, Vanessa Selbst and Roberto Romanello. Overall chip leader heading into Day 2 is Australian player Andrew Hinrichsen, who turned his 3,000 starting stack into a staggering 63,900. Day 2 begins today with the remainder of the huge field playing down into the money. The winner is set to walk away with €148,030 Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: geordieneil on October 10, 2011, 10:59:00 PM Roberto Romanello has taken the chip lead in wsope event 2 with 14 remaining

2011 World Series of Poker Europe Event #2: €1,090 No-Limit Hold'em Day 2 of the €1,090 "European Stimulus Special" is in the books, and we're down to our final nine. The day began with 104 hopefuls still in contention, but the eliminations came brutally quick in the early levels. Peter Jetten couldn't make it out of the first hand of the day, though in fairness to him, he only had 6,000 chips when play began. Other early casualties included Dan Shak, Farzad Bonyadi, Richard Toth, and France's newest WPT champion Matt Waxman. For a while, it looked like we were pushing toward a stacked final table, but the middle levels were equally cruel to the remaining familiar faces. Vanessa Selbst had her queens cracked by ace-queen to all but end her day, and she followed her pal Kevin MacPhee out the door with a middling cash. Other notables to fall by the wayside with small cashes were McLean Karr, Tyler Kenney, Nicolas Chouity, Toby Lewis, Dan Kelly, and November Niner Eoghan O'Dea. That leaves us with just nine, and it's Italy's Gianluca Speranza out in front with 757,000. He'll have to deal with a tough cast of characters, and Andrew Hinrichsen might be the betting favorite with one day left. He begins in second place with 434,000, and he's followed by another tough player, Roberto Romanello. The Welshman had an above-average stack for the bulk of the day, but a late clash with Speranza cost him nearly half his stack. The end-of-day chip counts are posted below 1 Gianluca Speranza 757,000 2 Andrew Hinrichsen 434,000 3 Roberto Romanello 253,000 4 Nabil Nedjai 250,500 5 Eric Baudry 232,000 6 Tarcisio Bruno 153,500 7 John Eames 106,500 8 Gregory Lejolivet 95,000 9 Bernard Guigon 53,000 1 148,030 2 91,262 3 67,281 4 50,146 5 37,874 6 28,977 7 22,449 8 17,608 9 13,982 Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 11, 2011, 11:13:21 AM 2011 World Series of Poker Europe

(€148,030)
It's all over but the shouting and the passing of the proverbial sugar. In just over seven hours of play today, Andrew Hinrichsen has completed his quest to achieve poker's most iconic prize, a piece of WSOP gold, adding nearly €150,000 to his pockets in the process. When the day began, Hinrichsen was second in chips, though still a long way behind chip leader Gianluca Speranza. And the Italian was flexing that chip lead in the opening levels. Speranza was responsible for the elimination of the ninth-place finisher Gregory Lejolivet in the first few minutes of the day, and he won a big flip with ace-king against pocket fives to send Eric Baudry out in sixth place. That gave him more than half the chips in play with five left, but his lead was anything but safe. Five-handed play lingered for a while before the table was able to bid farewell to a dangerous Welshman. Roberto Romanello came into this final table just eight players away from his first bracelet, and it would have made him only the fifth player to achieve poker's elusive Triple Crown. The day did not go as he had dreamt about last night though, and he soon found himself all in with his ace-deuce in awful shape. Bernard Guigon's ace-king was too much in the end, and Romanello was forced to settle for a consolation prize of €37,874 -- though it likely wasn't much consolation. Guigon was next to fall in fourth place (at the hands of Speranza), and the final three broke for dinner in a near deadlock for the chip lead. When they returned, things began to go south for Hinrichsen. Pot after pot was pulled from him, and he soon found himself badly in need of a double-up with just over 200,000 chips. Soon thereafter, though, he found that lucky double when his {9-Hearts} {10-Hearts} flushed Speranza's {A-Hearts} {10-Spades} to keep him afloat. He continued to chip his way up close to 650,000 when he played another decisive, double-up-or-go-home pot. It was a flip with Speranza, and the {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} of Hinrichsen managed to outrun his opponent's pocket fives to give him the chip lead for the first time. It wasn't much longer before the end came. In the last hand, Hinrichsen took Speranza to Valuetown with {A-Spades} {K-Spades}, and he ended up out-kicking his opponent on a king-high board to seal the deal. Speranza looked less than thrilled as they announced his name in second place, good enough for a big five-figure score. So then, Australia has another gold bracelet to add to its tally. That's six by our count, and this one moves Hinrichsen into Australia's all-time Top 25 winningest players. Hinrichsen had a small rail here to support him this week, but he sends his regards to everyone who was rooting for him back home. The drinks are on Andrew Hinrichsen tonight in Cannes, and Australia's newest bracelet winner has 148,030 new reasons to celebrate. It took less than four hours of play to complete all our ten Day 2 tables of this the €3,200 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout. They were all 3-max to be fair but the action was still rapid nonetheless. The fact that it took ElkY the longest to complete his win, tells you all you need to know. He completes a stellar line-up for the fourth final table of this series. Here's the seat draw for the final ten players: Seat Name Chips 1 James Dempsey 230,000 2 Richard Toth 231,000 3 Taylor Paur 233,000 4 Tristan Wade 238,000 5 Max Silver 246,000 6 John Armbrust 232,000 7 Emil Patel 237,000 8 Steve O'Dwyer 231,000 9 Michael Watson 245,000 10 Bertrand Grospellier 235,000 There were many notable names who had their high hopes dashed today. Freddy Deeb was first out when his nut straight lost out to Steve O'Dwyer's set when the latter filled up on the river. It wasn't too long before Vanessa Selbst was out in the sun too. Her pocket kings were beaten by the quad sixes of Max Silver, who then went on to beat Terrance Chan heads-up. Chad Brown, James Mitchell, Anton Makiievskyi, Tommy Vedes, Tobias Reinkemeier and Ryan D'Angelo were all amoungst the 20 players who will have to be happy with the €6,913 they received for winning their first table. D'Angelo will feel the most aggrieved with the amount though as he had O'Dwyer all-in twice as an 80% favourite, but lost both times. The final table is due to start at 3pm local time Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 13, 2011, 10:21:01 AM 2011 World Series of Poker Europe
Day 1 Concludes in Event #5 with Bejedal Leading Day 1 of Event #5: €10,400 No-Limit Hold'em (Split Format) is in the books. Leading the way at the end of the night is Dennis Bejedal with 153,700 in chips. There are 72 players advancing to Day 2 tomorrow, which will be played in a six-handed format. Plenty of poker superstars were in action for this unique event including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jason Mercier, Jeff LIsandro, Michael Mizrachi, Tom Dwan and Erik Seidel. If that's enough enough of a who's who list for you, how about adding Freddy Deeb, Viktor Blom, Tony G, Sam Trickett, Carlos Mortensen and Ben Lamb? If that doesn't satisfy your poker appetite, you should see a doctor soon. They'll all be moving on to Day 2. On the flip side of things, Phil Collins, McLean Karr, Chris Moorman, Fabrice Soulier, Eugene Katchalov, Barry Greenstein, James Bord and Joao Barbosa were all eliminated throughout the day. Bejedal took the chip lead after beating fellow Swede Joel Nordkvist in a big pot with full house over full house. Steve Billirakis bet 4,600 on the {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Nordkvist made the call and then Bejedal also called. The three players witnessed the {K-Diamonds} land on the turn and Billirakis checked. Nordkvist fired 12,500 and Bejedal called. Billirakis folded. After the river completed the board with the {2-Clubs}, Nordkvist bet 17,000. Bejedal made the call. Nordkvist showed the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} for a full house, deuces full of aces. Bejedal revealed the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a better full house, tens full of deuces, and moved to over 150,000 and into the number one spot. Other notable big stacks include Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi with 140,300, Tom Dwan with 127,400 and Freddy Deeb with 121,000. Englishman Bord’s bold offer stems from a strong belief that European players are better: " I don't think an American can win the bracelet, Europeans are now far superior. We used to look up to the U.S players back in the day, but those days are now long gone. I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is and refund any losing bets up to $500 if an American wins.*" Jeffrey Lisandro chimed in saying " Wow - that's a bold statement!" While recent WSOPE finalist Roberto Romanello added, " It’s a matter of opinion, but the Europeans have definitely caught up" Andrew Pantling, spokesman for Matchbook.com said, “James statement about American players may be a controversial one but we stand by his offer and feel its going to be a year for a European despite players like Hellmuth and Seidel playing out of their skins in recent tournaments.” Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: cooler on October 13, 2011, 02:42:28 PM Theres a market on Flushy!!!!!!
Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 14, 2011, 09:16:59 AM Congratulations to Tristan Wade, Winner of Event #4: €3,200 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout (€182,048)
Tristan Wade has become the fourth player to collect a coveted gold bracelet this week. He was one of the players who requested the blinds be pushed back today and this allowed him to sit back in the early stages, stay out of trouble and observe all those around him. We came back from the dinner break five-handed and a different beast returned. His VPIP percentage must've doubled as he began, with Michael Watson, to dismantle the field around him. He won a key hand versus Max Silver four-handed (KK v 44) that enabled him to eliminate the dangerous Brit who had position on him. It also to gave him the chips to compete with Watson, who was chip leader at that point after putting on his own masterclass. Once Richard Toth was eliminated in 3rd, Wade reached an even greater level of aggression in his play. He pounded his Canadian opponent and soon overturned the chip-deficit and grew a substantial lead. There was one key heads-up hand where he managed to maneuver Watson off a big pot when the board read {10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and this seemed to break his opponent's spirit. Watson did manage to double-up when his king-ten over came Wade's pocket jacks, but moments later he was all-in again versus jacks. He was behind with ace-four and failed to find another three-outer. Wade showed class throughout the three days of play, and that goes for on the table and off the table. He was polite and courteous to all around him and is very a popular and deserving winner. Event #5: €10,400 No-Limit Hold'em (Split Format) Powell in Front at the Halfway Pole This unique "Mixed-Max" event began with 125 players in the hunt, and after two days of play, that number now sits at just sixteen. Entering tomorrow's heads-up bracket, it's Brian Powell wielding the big stack, bagging up an impressive 484,000 to make himself the betting favorite at the halfway point. Nearly everyone in this elite field would qualify as "notable", but a few particularly big names were among the early casualties. November Niner Ben Lamb started the day with just 8,100 chips (from a 30,000-chip starting stack), and he managed an early triple up before the bottom fell out. After working up to about 25,000, he promptly ran his pocket kings into Joseph Elpayaa's pocket aces, and Lamb was relegated to the rail within the first few minutes of the day. November's Matt Giannetti didn't fare much better, and he was very short on chips when his pocket tens fell to an opponent with ace-four. Others to hit the rail on this brutal day included Phil Hellmuth, Jonathan Duhamel, and Carlos Mortensen, as well as France's own Bruno Fitoussi, David Benyamine, and Vanessa Rousso. And Olivier Busquet, who only sounds French. The bubble was pretty brutal, but all 16 who survived this day are guaranteed to make some money this week. They'll return to the tables tomorrow at 3:00 P.M when the bracket will be drawn and we'll find out who plays who. We'll play the Rounds of 16 and 8 tomorrow, finishing up with our final four for the run to the bracelet. Event #6: €1,620 Six-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha Fierro on Fire: Nicolas Fierro Leads Day One Event #6: €1,620 Six-Handed PLO 339 players were reduced to 36 players in the blink of an eye - the beauty of six-handed PLO! Jack Ellwood and Chad Brown were the early front runners, but then Roberto Romanello took over at the top and maintained the lead for most of the day. Then the man on fire, Nicolas Fierro, burned his way to the top and when he was moved to the Welshmans table he overtook him as the man to catch. The end of eight levels approached at the same time as the money bubble and the unfortunate bubble boy was Sean LeFort. The action ceased immediately and everyone was sent home, guaranteed a min-cash, and told to return at 15.00 (CET) for Day Two. Day 3 completed And Then There Were Four: Event #5 €10,400 NLHE (Split Format) Level 21: 6,000-12,000, 2,000 ante This split format concept is a lot of fun. Day One resolved the nine-handed dispute, Day Two ended the six-handed dispute and today we had the testosterone fuelled heads-up encounters. 16 players started and four remained after two rounds of action. In the first round Anatolii Ozhenilok overcame a 2:1 chip deficit to defeat Joel Nordkvist and Brian Hastings overcame Erik Seidel! Yes the man can be beaten! The last encounter to be settled involved fellow countrymen Jason Mercier and Shawn Buchanan. The man nicknamed Bucky flopping straights an incredible three times during their encounter which he eventually progressed through. With the dangerous Seidel and Mercier out of the way it became anyones contest in the second round. The first casualty was Hastings who was quite litrally ground-down by The Grinder Michael Mizrachi and Shawn Buchanan won his see-saw match with Ozhenilok. Then the biggest upset of the round came when Roger Hairabedian overturn a chip deficit to take out Brian Powell. This left one final match between Dan Fleyshman and Noah Schwartz. Schwartz was always in control but just could not eliminate Fleyshman who kept alive through a series of double ups. In the end Fleyshman found {K-Spades} {J-Spades} and Schwartz found {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and that is all she wrote. Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 16, 2011, 11:36:05 AM Event #5: €10,400 No-Limit Hold'em (Split Format)
Michael Mizrachi Wins Event #5 €10,400 No-Limit Hold'em (Split Format) Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi has just climbed to the top of this WSOPE heap, winning his second gold bracelet in two years and adding another €336,008 to his wallet. That moves him into sixth place on the all-time money list. Coming out of the big-stacked half of the bracket, Mizrachi's road to the final appeared to be a tough one, but he did what he could to make it look easy. On the very first hand of his Round-of-16 match, Grinder found pocket kings against Kent Lundmark's pocket tens, and a win there proved to be a good omen for Mizrachi. Next up for Mizrachi was a contest with Brian Hastings. Hastings, who is more famous for his online action than his live, was in excellent form after stopping the unstoppable Erik Seidel in Round One. When the match started off both players had around half a million chips each but the Grinder was simply stunning; he won every pot of note until Hastings was reduced to moving all-in with {K-Spades} {3-Spades} and The Grinder called with {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and he was into the semi-final. In the semi-final, Mizrachi found himself up against a man very much on top of his game. Roger Hairabedian had recently battled his way through to the Partouche Main Event final table where he will try to win, a not too shabby, €1 million first prize. Hairabedian had disposed of Dimitry Motorov and Brian Powell en route to his encounter with the Grinder. Both players started with the biggest stacks of the semi-final and they both knew that the winner would carry a 2:1 chip advantage into the final, so it was a lot at stake. The match itself was slow and sedentary until the climax and a quite incredible hand. Hairabedian must have been ecstatic when he flopped a set of fives on a {J-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Spades} board, but not half as ecstatic as Mizrachi who turned a straight holding {6-Hearts} {7-Clubs} when the {4-Diamonds} made an appearance. A classic cooler for Hairabedian who was out in 3rd. Onto the final and his opponent was Shawn Buchanan. Buchanan had already cashed in two WSOPE events this series and was in fine form; but he did have a 2:1 chip disadvantage. The chip difference proved to be all the difference because it enabled Mizrachi to extert pressure and exert it he did. The critical hand that sent Buchanan to the depths of despair was when the sign of the devil appeared on the flop. It was {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} and Mizrachi extracted two-thirds of the Buchanan stack before forcing him to fold to an all-in jam on the river. Then the final hand of Event #5 and Mizrachi added that piece of luck to his skill jigsaw. Mizrachi moved all-in over a Buchanan raise and Buchanan made the call. It was the {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} of Mizrachi versus the {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} of Buchanan but a {10-Clubs} in the window sealed the deal and handed Mizrachi his second WSOP bracelet. Event #7: €10,400 Main Event Championship Rosen Leads Into Day 2; Defending Champion Bord Still Alive This €10,400 Main Event Championship attracted a whopping 593 players over the course of two starting days and 333 of them remain in contention. Heading the pack is Jamie Rosen, who bagged up 162,700 in chips after Day 1a. Behind him are Lari Sihvo with 144,725 and Tommy Vedes with 142,775. Both Sihvo and Vedes played on Day 1b. Previously, the largest-ever WSOP Europe Main Event was back in 2007 and 2008 when Annette Obrestad and John Juanda emerged victorious, respectively. In each of those years, the main event attracted 362 players. Comparing the 2007 and 2008 field size to this year, the tournament has grown nearly 64%. Comparing the number to last year's field size, you'll find a growth of over 71%. Speaking of last year, the defending champion James Bord is still alive and well with above-average chips. He bagged up a flat 60,000 at the end of play last night, which puts him roughly 6,500 chips above the mean. We'll be keeping a close eye on him all day today in his title-defense run. Other notables still remaining are Robert Mizrachi, McLean Karr, Leo Boxell, Tony G, Johnny Chan, Ben Lamb, Matan Krakow, Olivier Busquet and Freddy Deeb. Also still alive are current WSOP November Niners Ben Lamb and Sam Holden. The remaining 328 (of the 539 starters) walked back into the tournament room today, but more than 200 of the walked right back out with a frown over the course of six testing levels. Including the start-of-day chip leader, Jamie Rosen. And the third-place stack of Tommy Vedes. It was Vedes' birthday today, but he was the one doing the giving, quickly passing his chips out to his table mates and heading off to (hopefully) celebrate. With the bags out on the tables, it looks like Constant Rijkenberg has done the most work today, and his stack of 462,800 puts him atop the pack heading for the run to the money tomorrow. Rijkenberg's finishing stack is still less than Rifat Palevic's high point on the day. Palevic was the first player to amass a big stack today, working his count up over the half-million mark at one point. The aggression that gave him the chips took a chunk of them away, however, and Palevic had to settle for a finishing count of 353,500 -- still quite healthy. Others who are still in the hunt for this title include Erik Seidel, Barry Greenstein, Robert Mizrachi, Victor Ramdin, Patrik Antonius, Tony G, and the defending champion, James Bord. And don't look now, but last year's 13th-place finisher, Hoyt Corkins, finds himself in second place overall with 429,900 at night's end. Everyone's chasing Rijkenberg, though, and the Dutchman certainly knows what it takes to win a big tournament. Rijkenberg is the EPT San Remo champion from a couple years back, and his game seems to have grown even a bit more mature in the time since then. He'll bring almost a half-million chips back with him tomorrow. Play is set to resume at noon tomorrow, and we'll play eight-handed from here on out. Day 3 completed Every Day 3 Has a Silver Lining: Max Silver Leads The WSOPE Main Event Level 19: 5,000-10,000, 1,000 ante There was a great atmosphere inside the Hotel Majestic Barriere today. Maybe it was the sunshine? Maybe it was the fact that 64 souls were going to earn some money? Whatever it was it moved around the air flicked in and out of the cards and created some amazing action, fantastic face-offs and superb suck-outs. It was, of course, day three of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) €10,400 Main Event Championship. In Sep 2010, Max Silver got himself noticed on the European poker scene after winning the UKIPT in Dublin and then winning a side event at EPT London. Fast forward 12 months and Silver had not cashed in one single live event, but as he rolled into his favourite month it all began to change. He finished 28th at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris, 4th at UKIPT Dublin (again) and then 4th in the WSOPE Event #4 €3,200 Shootout a few days ago. To top off a fantastic few months, he has finished as our day three chip leader with 1,780,000 chips. Silver's magic moment came in a flush-versus-flush encounter with fellow countryman Mathew Frankland. After that moment Silver just went from strength to strength. Just behind Max Silver is Chris Moorman. Moorman spray-painted his name all over the poker world when he received notoriety for his performances in cyber space. But just recently Moorman has been showing the world that he also knows the way into a live card room, and boy when that lad turns up, can he play! In January Moorman finished in 7th place at the Aussie Millions Main Event before having a crazy summer in Vegas, winning over $1 million at the WSOP. The last time he cashed in a live event on European soil was at the WSOPE in 2010 and he has just done it again, only this time he might just go all of the way. Moorman's vital moment came after a monumental bubble hand against Constant Rijkenberg. Then after being moved to the final table he ran amok eliminating Hoyt Corkins, Freddy Deeb, Carbone Damiano and Melanie Weisner. Moorman finally bagged up 1,769,000 chips to take second place just a hair's breadth from Silver. Day 3 was also the day that we breached the money bubble, and the unfortunate player was none other than Barry Greenstein. Just before his exit Greenstein told the table that his girlfriend had predicted that he would be the bubble boy. How unfortunate that she should be proved so right – Brian Roberts the recipient of a brand new signed copy of Ace on the River. 23-players will return, at 14.00 (CET) Wednesday, as the WSOPE main event launches into day four. Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: TightEnd on October 20, 2011, 08:50:26 AM 2011 World Series of Poker Europe
Event #7: €10,400 Main Event Championship Madness Ensues At The End of Day 4: WSOPE €10,400 Main Event It was the penultimate day of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) €10,400 Main Event, deep in the heart of the Hotel Majestic Barriere. We started with 25 players and needed to establish our eight stars for our final table. It started slow, but ended in a jet-powered haze of madness in a flurry of hands in level 24. Tony G (24th), Erik Seidel (21st), John Eames (20th) and John Duthie (18th) were a trio of stars who faded in the early part of the day and once we hit 16 players we moved location. Majestic Room #3 is a place any poker player in the world would want to play. The main feature table where the final will be played looks like it has been lifted from a James Bond movie - a simply stunning setting. Two tables of eight were set up and the players went about their business, knocking each other down like very expensive skittles. After a series of short-stack double ups we had our first elimination. Brian Roberts ending the hopes of Michael Drummond. Then Jake Cody found {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} in an all-in encounter versus Chris Moorman’s {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and propelled himself into contention. From then on it was the Jake Cody show as he slowly moved himself into first spot. Lehavot, Moreau Moseley and Guenegou followed Drummond out of the competition, before we experienced an insane 10-minute spell on both tables. Firstly, Elio Fox, Alex Dovzhenko and Arnaud Mattern were all-in pre flop in a pot worth 3 million and a spot as the chip leader beckoned. “I have them,” said Mattern. When the cards were turned over you could see why Mattern said what he did. Mattern had aces, Fox had pocket tens and Dovzhenko had ace-king. The flop was {10-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}, Fox took an unlikely lead and it stayed that way when the last card was planted onto the deck like a stake in the heart of Mattern and Dovzhenko. Meanwhile over at the feature table someone else was about to get lucky. Chris Moorman four bet his entire stack (940,000) in reaction to a Patrik Antonius three-bet and Antonius called. Moorman showed {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} and Antonius {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. The flop was {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} but then a {8-Diamonds} on the turn created a split pot. Antonius looked visibly annoyed, but that was nothing compared to his face when the {7-Diamonds} hit the river to hand Moorman a lifeline and put Antonius on life support. That left Antonius with 80,000 chips and Shawn Buchanan put him out of his misery a few hands later and we had our final table. 1 Elio Fox 3,990,000 2 Jake Cody 2,685,000 3 Dermot Blain 2,405,000 4 Chris Moorman 2,230,000 5 Brian Roberts 2,000,000 6 Max Silver 1,825,000 7 Moritz Kranich 1,660,000 8 Shawn Buchanan 1,015,000 1 1,400,000 2 800,000 3 550,000 4 400,000 5 275,000 6 200,000 7 150,000 8 115,000 Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: mondatoo on October 20, 2011, 09:06:03 AM how can you say its so bad without metagame? moorman 3bets almost every hand and jake had good 4bet shove stack, it was nice spot for jake, therefore a close call for moorman Jake's a massive nit though and Moorman doesn't no Jake's game very well so all in all Moorman's clearly just a massive luckbox. So sorry that he didn't win the lot but he definitely will have his time over and over again I expect. Despite his online origins his table presence was incredibly strong and obv he is technically excellent. #fanboyinthehouse Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: mondatoo on October 21, 2011, 12:00:31 AM UL Moorman.

Event #7: €10,400 Main Event Championship Elio Fox is Your 2011 WSOPE Main Event Champion! Congratulations to Elio Fox, 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event Champion (€1,400,000)! The 2011 World Series of Poker Europe has come to a close with the conclusion of the €10,400 Main Event Championship. It was an absolutely amazing series capped off by Elio Fox becoming victorious in the Main Event and earning the massive €1,400,000 first-place prize. Back on Saturday, October 15, this prestigious event kicked off and 310 players came out for Day 1a. On Day 1b, another 283 players joined the mix to take the grand total of entrants all the way up to 593, easily making it the largest WSOP Europe Main Event in history. The amazingly large field generated a prize pool of €5,692,800 and the top 64 places were to be paid out. The eight players to make the final table would have a chance at €3,890,000 of that prize pool and coming into the final day, Elio Fox headed the bunch. The first player eliminated on the day was Britain's Max Silver. He was followed out the door by Jake Cody, Shawn Buchanan, Dermot Blain, Brian Roberts and Moritz Kranich in that order, leaving just two players to duke it out for the bracelet. The heads-up battle for the title came down to American Elio Fox and Brit Chris Moorman. When the match began, Fox held the lead with 11.095 million in chips to 6.72 million. About 20 hands into heads-up play, Fox took a big chunk from the stack of Moorman. Fox had the button and he raised to 200,000. Moorman called. The flop came {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and Moorman checked to Fox who bet 250,000. Moorman took his time and raised the action to 625,000 and Fox made the call. The turn was the interesting {A-Spades} and Moorman kept up his momentum with a bet of 950,000. Fox remained seemingly unfazed with his fists clenched tightly underneath his mouth; he grabbed for chips and made the call. The river was the even more interesting {10-Clubs} and Moorman pulled back on the brake a little bit with a check. Action moved to Fox and he also checked and we had a showdown. Fox showed the {J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for the tiniest of flushes and Moorman mucked his hand. On the final hand, Fox had the button and raised to 200,000 with the blinds at 50,000/100,000/10,000. Moorman three-bet to 430,000 and then Fox shoved all in. Moorman called it all off and it looked like he had a little over two million in chips left. He held the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades} and was dominated by Fox's {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The flop was interesting with the {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} falling. The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and gave Moorman some outs to a chop. When the river landed with the {8-Hearts}, it was all over with and Fox was the champion. For his finish in second place, Moorman took home €800,000. Final Table Payouts Place Player Prize 1 Elio Fox €1,400,000 2 Chris Moorman €800,000 3 Moritz Kranich €550,000 4 Brian Roberts €400,000 5 Dermot Blain €275,000 6 Shawn Buchanan €200,000 7 Jake Cody €150,000 8 Max Silver €115,000 Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: Horneris on October 21, 2011, 01:37:25 PM railtard the only guy who won! £100 at 4/1 made £200 on the book, but shall we paiiiiiiiiiiiii him or shall we grim the mug?? paiiii him and paiiiiiiiiiiiii me Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: Moorman1 on October 28, 2011, 12:31:28 PM Thanks for all the support and kind words everyone (only just saw this thread as blonde is banned in Italy wtf?) I tried my best but just wasn't to be in the end... Funnily enough me and Elio (smockrockflock) swapped 5% with 130 players left pretty sick to end up Hu in the end, he played gr8 and was fortunate at the right times with pocket tens twice! Would just like to say that Jake Cody is a beast and I was very impressed with how he handled that beat and how tough he was to have on my table all the way from about 40 left. Fortunately I did chop though so guaranteed myself a 1m euro payday to soften the blow of 2nd a bit :)
I'll just have to comeback and seal the deal in Vegas 2012 :) Title: Re: WSOP-E thread Post by: pokerfan on October 28, 2011, 06:37:31 PM Crushing 2011, gl bracelet hunting next year !
